Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I haven't even started the bike yet :(
The weather turned on us here so I have to wait till tomorrow to change the oil and throw the battery in.
I hope the 35T isn't too far as well, if it is I will wind up moving to a 420 or 428 setup and going with a 15/40 or a 15/39
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information

Must be nice--our car thermometer indicated 102 today (no, not April fool's)
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
102F and 34F both suck!!!
I like it at a nice 75-85F
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Yea but that 102 is a dry heat.... then again so is an acetylene torch and I'm not putting my face in that either :17:

Yeah, we been stuck with the 75-85F weather here in Florida for months. Getting kinda old looking at those bikinis at the beach.:riding:
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I'll be coming down to FL to visit some family in the next 3 weeks so I will enjoy the warm weather while I can =)
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Ok I finely got the battery in and changed the oil!
Fired her up for the first time and WOOOOOOOO I love the sound of this bike!!
kinda got my D hard hehe, it almost sounds like a Suzuki TL1000R I truly love the deep throaty sound this thing puts out!
I still have to figure out the choke though If I leave it in the center it runs perfectly and also if I switch it all the way down it runs perfect, but then second I flip the choke all the way up the bike stalls within 2-4 seconds. I cant take it for a ride yet because I am waiting on the new clutch set to come in =(
I also wanted to point out to anyone who hasn't had a china bike before, these things oxidize VERY fast! I had a cover on the bike from day one and the last 2 days it was raining (no water got on the bike that I am aware of) but where there is no pain it oxidized already (3 small spots on the battery box). I had the same thing happen on my bothers Roketas a few years back. I'm not sure if its because I live directly on the beach or if the metallurgy in china is just not up to snuff I guess only time will tell =)
Other then that they did a killer job at putting this thing together, I am actually shocked how torqued down all the nuts/bolts are. I will get some video of the bike tomorrow and more pics but the audio isn't going to be that good because its a gopro HD and they aren't known for their audio =)
I'm still kicking myself in the ass for snapping the bolt to hold the clutch on O.o
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Aboshi,
Congrats on getting her fired up. So you don't think it is too loud? If so guess I'll quit saying it is too loud. Can you get a sound bite of the stock muffler for bckcntrysddr? My video camera is acting up.
Choke is backwards of what I thought it should be. Down is off. Since I changed the main jet to 100 and put a washer under the needle, I never need the choke and now it is not cold blooded.
Took a long ride today and I'm sticking with the 33 tooth rear for now. Maybe I'll need the 38t when I take her to the mountains.
Sure get the looks when you are riding one of these bobbers. People pull up next to you and ask questions about the bike.
