"the" hose you speak of is forthe secondary air intake.
yes. at least 2 of us at some point. I would continuously.
so I did like most and just removed the sysytem.
I never found out why it was, and I dismanteled the entire system.

The hose is located on the right side of the engine, just inches from where the exhaust comes out. The model number is
MC_D250RTB_B.
The speedometer quit working on the wife's dong fang. I don't know much about bikes besides the basics to be honest this is the first bike I have ever worked on (I don't even ride). I checked the connectors to and from the gauge she says the odometer still works don't know if that means anything. Thanks for any help
Question for 2012 owners:
I didn't notice the dots on the handle bar clamps and need to know if the dots go up on down.
Thanks
Yancy, couple of guys had that problem with the hose going to the air injection pump. I think some are defective. You don't need it and I took mine off and covered the hole in the exhaust with a 1/8" steel plate with a gasket and a vacuum cap on the carb. I think it works better without it.
Hello ALL. I found this forum on google as I was loooking for information on the dong fang bobbers. i found this one locally http://carbondale.craigslist.org/mcy/3852824558.html
I am very much considering this for a mid to late summer bike. it will be my first and its really the price that is catching my eye.
My major concern is that i know nothing about bike repair, and of course i have that friend that knows alot more that tells me that it will fall apart on me, haha.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Looks like a decent price. That is the newest model of the DF Bobber. That is a good thing. I don't own one, but am considering it. I have over 50 years of riding time in and do my own maintenance. The good thing about these is that they are as easy as it gets to work on. It is a single cylinder pushrod engine. I think they are a great looking motorcycle. They are NOT made for two up/riding double. The model in your ad is my favorite. If you bought that bike new, they start at about $2100 plus and fees, plus tax, etc. It doesn't look like that bike is licensed yet. It IS made in China, which turns some people off. The model you refer to has a different gas tank, handlebars, and (I believe) seat. The early tanks sometimes had a leak problem, but this bike should not. If one came up for sale at that price near me, and I could verify that it would be able to be licensed here, I would grab it after checking it over and test riding it if it checked out all right. .
