not riding at night is, what we all are planning to do - but we also know how easily this goes in the wrong direction and you are forced to ride into the dark... :hellfire: 75W - luckily your fuses or cables didn't burn off. "water sipping FLOOD LIGHTS" - I like that...

I am getting better at controlling my timing now and I have only had to ride one night into the dark this year. The cable and fuse seems to be holding for the 2 hours ride with lights on or when I am on full throttle riding during day time (light turned on so not to over charge the battery). The heat from the bulb did turned the front cowl yellow though:eekers:Quote:

I have received many PMs asking me about the XTR250ADV. Here is a recent answer I wrote back to one of them. I thought I should share it here so folks thinking of getting the XTR may find it useful:
In 2009 I helped Galaxy to modify their XTR250 to an adv version but I have no say in how they are going to sell them and with what kind of options. Many of the questions you asked about option parts has to be addressed by factory and not from me.
You pay what you get for. Cheap Chinese bike came with low quality. Many issues such as use of Locktite and replacing with better quality parts you need to do after the delivery. Don't expect the little factory can do much for you. I made a 2000km test ride to Hainan Island before making the trip to SEA. Another 6000km later and much more upgrading, I took the bike to Tibet on a 2 month trip. You can read all my RR at advrider.com.
XTR250 is not for everyone. It may seem ok for me but may not suit you. So get the bike and experiment with it. You will have fun upgrading it to your liking and is an adventure of it own.
