Re: Rapeseed Blossom
Euphonius and LJH,
Sorry to have mislead you. The wires shown in post #28 don't include the "anti-theft wire", which is hanging off the plastic cover over the key assembly in post#22. If you take those bolts off, also appeared in the photo of Post#22, the thin black cover will separate from the assembly and come off). So there has been no change of design from Jialing regarding the flimsy wire issues.
The original problem was not caused by the wire being stretched too tight. It is actually just the opposite that it is too long and twisted and turned too many times before reaching its terminal. The wire itself may also have quality issues, as Motorkai had similar problem on a different wire.
The heist attempt took place while the bike was out in a dark bike parking area inside my apartment compound. Didn't bother to pull it in to the underground parking with baoan guarding it. I know the anti-theft mechanism works, as learned from my trip. However, I didn't add additional deterrent such as a horrendous lock or something, which, even we know it doesn't add any extra protection, might have made the thief think twice about it. I don't know how skilled the theft was. He had a tool set, broke parts of them, left the debris in and gave up.
The 3 new locks came with a pair of keys. Those keys have 2 halves, force-fit together. They can be pried open through a small slot on top. Just take the chips out of the old keys and put into the new key set to make the anti-theft thing happy.
By the way, I am very appreciative of the fact Dr. Cui in Pudong made a house call last night and fixed everything. I think 刘志东 has started to rely on him more and more for JH600 services. He is getting quite proficient in working on our JH600s.
Cheers.

This info will be helpful if I experience a similar situation (fingers crossed it doesn`t happen).
You SH folks are lucky to have a Dr that makes house calls.
