thanks for the photos and info....the Shineray looks as skinny as the models! Interesting mix of motos...I must say the Canton Fair motos and Manufactures, though mostly export models, are far better looking and quality, unfortunately for us here in China.
The Guangzhou show did not have motos except those use for display..as they had some outstanding KTM's used for this purpose. It is a show for 'gear heads' as they had everything you need to build your own motorcycle company....
Is the Jialing considered a 'crossover'? which crossover did you like the best? other than the expensive Kawasaki of course.
oops one other question..Honda,,, anything good offered here in china, was the 450, as shown in your photo available here, I see on their website only 150cc and smaller? its surprising with SK offering the 250 for more than a year (and my town the police use them) that honda doesnt offer anything to match SK.
Thanks for all the pics Doc
The red bike you described as " bmw lookalike" did it look like a shineray engine? 250 or possibly 300cc?
Thanks for taking all the pictures bikerdoc.
Just an FYI guys and gals. When you embed that many photos into posts, MCM has to pay for the bandwidth to serve them all. Hosting them on an external image hosting service lets you show much larger images and also reduced the bandwidth hosting costs of MCM.
Not a complaint, just a heads up.
Cheers!
I assume when you write 'crossover' you might be referring to a 'dual sport' motorcycle? If so, then to my mind and based on what I saw, then nothing locally made really stood out. Shineray have some ok bikes, the SRM 500 and 600cc look to be ok too, Jialing - sorry not a fan. The talked about CF650MT is a non-event as yet, with a possible release date near end of 2015 if the Marketing Director's words ring true. As she said, the reason it is taking so long, is that they (CFMoto) want to get it right/perfect. Time will tell.
The only worthy dual sport / adventure model bikes on display were IMO the imported ones e.g. KTM, Kawasaki.
YMMV
You may not be looking on the correct Honda website. For a complete range of imported bikes check out Dreamwing Honda Ch!na. Having written that though, the CB500X which would make a competent platform for Ch!na is not yet available via the Honda distributor, nor are other DS/ADV models.
