Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
It's a great start. But I have a few thoughts.
Could you 'sex-up' the front cover and go with a 600cc plus road bike, such as BJ600 or 650NK etc? Maybe the first 10 or so pages read like a China version of MCN, with hot sexy chicks, big bikes, cafe racers, tourers and Asia racing news etc.
Then we get to the trade, parts and small bikes at the back.
Still, it's a great start and 1000 times better than I imagine a Chinese trade magazine might be.
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
Sexy chicks a must for future issues. We are going to sponsor a MX team and there is a ladies team with some really fetching ladies!
Will do a special on the 600 and 650 bikes from Jialing, Loncin, CFMoto and Benelli (also the 400 from Shineray).
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
This magazine sounds better and better all the time :D
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
I know that I would prefer to hear proper feedback about my work, rather then to get thumbs up and to hear just "good job", so...
- CW2 international partners: you wrote "Moto is the most read motorcycle magazine in Cyrillic text and represents Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus as well sa other Cyrillic reading nations." Well, here in Serbia/Montenegro/Bosnia&Herzegovina we use both, Cyrillic and Latin script, in neighboring Bulgaria and Macedonia Cyrillic, but average man from those countries does not understand Russian language (OK, those all are Slavic languages, but still - they are not the same), on which "Moto" magazine is been printed.
Also, cyrillic script is in use in former Soviet republics such are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, but again, their languages differs even more from "Motos" Russian. Luckily, in those countries most of the population speak Russian. Bottom line: instead "Cyrillic reading nations", you can use word "russophonic".
BTW, did you contacted Croatian "Moto Puls" - http://www.motopuls.com/ ? Last time when I read that magazine, I got the feeling that they would benefit from a guy like you - their articles on C-motos were somewhat... "second hand".
- "Chinese motorcycles in Russia": Interview with Yuri Zuev is good. Those "frames" with one question and one answer are bit confusing, but this does not affect on information we received. I had impression that "Racer", Russia's biggest C-moto importer is much smaller business than "Stels", "Baltimotors" or even "Omaks". Did Zuev mention those "underground" imports from China, sh...loads of nameless mopeds known in Russia as "Alpha" and "Delta", often assembled out of sub-par parts?
- Expo section: good reminder of upcoming events
- "Tekken" article: looks like it is written on "Chingrish", and, I do not want to be disrespectful, with some useless information - "normal" foot pegs and "rear fork" (having those "abnormal" would be a nice touch), black mirrors (damn, I wanted those in fuchsia). :lol8:
- "The pros and cons of working with a Chinese trading company": good guide for the basic things you need to know.
- Cubs in Thailand – OK, but this is well known thing to moto enthusiast worldwide. Although, it would be interesting to read something about Chinese made under-bones (much more than in your article I recently found on the Web) - about their designs, frames and engines (OK, most are "Honda" clones, but as I understand, there are also "Suzuki" and "Yamaha" based designs) and their rating in Southeast Asia.
- Sean Kerr's "Life on the road": this story shows one, most important thing - you can earn "Iron butt" certificate riding C-moto. Only limitation is your butt, not C-moto.
- "The bike market in Brazil": it is interesting to read about habits and preferences of buyers in different countries, from South America, via Europe and Asia to Africa. Any new article on the subject would be welcome.
- "Guide to buying motorcycle parts from China": it is written in general, but for me, even more detailed articles on the subject would be interesting.
- "Who (really) made my bike": useful!
- "My China Moto" add -
- Statistics for September: for figure lovers.
- "Agony uncle" column: every serious magazine has one.
- Parts fair: it is interesting to hear impressions from foreign visitors, but also to read report from this fair.
- "CF Moto" in Europe: well, if they could "trim" their prices for 1k euros, they will dig in firmly in Europe. Today, if you throw another 1k euros on their prices, you can get something comparable from "Big Japanese Four". For most buyers, this is logic they follow. Simple as that!
- "Made in China, ridden in Europe": good interview, shows how people could have use from Chinese moto industry, not only to resell final product offered by some Chinese factory.
- "Chinese motorcycles positively affect modernization in developing countries": so, where is that Mongolian "drunk farmer bike"? He deserves at least centerfold! If I can ad, without any doubts, C-motos became some kind of substitute for defunct moped and low-end motorcycle brands, especially in Eastern Europe.
- Page 79, "Kington Jaguar" add: can you tell us something more about his design, about their "Puma" street bike and about their under-bone with recognizable design, sold in South America as "Gilera"? Unknown factory, but they pushed out three original designs, Who are those guys?
- "How does a price hike in raw materials affect motorcycle cost": whoa, only this subject can occupy at least half of dozen pages in every issue of C2W! About comparison Indian vs. Chinese bikes: IMO, average Indian bike is better than average Chinese. I know that you can get good raw materials in China, they know how to make them, but I would like to read study on how they can (and want) to work with crap materials and how much more you must to pay to get at least decent quality components on your bike.
- "Looking at Loncin": oh man, show us those "dual fuel" bikes! I bet that Krasi will buy one which run on CNG. Right away, without questions!
- "Chinese record breaking success not shared with the World": What's new? We here are familiar with sluggishness of most Chinese factories.
.....Who said "Wonjan"!? :mwink:
- "Foreign expert services - Building bridges": What to say? Like in "Nike" commercial - "Just do it" and good luck.
- SEDEMAC: OK guys, show us how "in flesh' how these things work.
- KMS VPP: meh... at this moment, it is too fancy and hi-tec for me, but one day...
- List of OEM and distributors: this is nice and it is good that they all have Web pages.
That was first that crossed my mind.
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
Now that's what I call feedback! Thanks Zorge.
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
I think that iron butt with a china bike should had made it into breaking news in TV.
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
Chongqing Andes Mechanical/Electrical Trade Co. Ltd merged with Chongqing Kington-Liyang Motorcycle Manufacturing Co., Ltd in 1994. They are an OEM for both Gilera of Argentina as well as for the brand Guerro.
They also claim to be an OEM for Mahindra and Kinetic, the latter was purchased by the former in 2008.
The company also claims annual exports of over 50 million units and that it is a medium size manufacturer. However, exporting that many would actually make them a very large exporter. They claim they are in the top 20 exporters out of Chongqing, however their claimed export numbers would rank them in the Top 50 nationally and they have never been on the top 50 list.
They are for sure exporting to Argentina, however they are not an exclusive OEM for either brand name as they also sell Yingang and Loncin models.
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
My wife used to work with Kington years ago, all the main staff at Fuego started either at Bashan or Kington.
They may well be a top 20 exporter from Chongqing in all their guises. I saw on a report that they were ranked 39th in China.
50 million units????!!!! That's 5 times more than the entire export figure. They produce around 100 thousand units.
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
They have 56 million sited on global sources , even if that was 56 thousand it would still put them on both of the top 50 lists and they are not on either. This year total exports for the Top 50 would total around 8M with the largest single exporter being Loncin at around a million units. Yingang at 35th will export around 50k this year. These very large numbers are likely a product of some mistranslating, also overstating and exaggerating numbers is a Chinese national pastime.
Re: Free copy china2wheels magazine
I had these production figures from 2012 in the archives. Most factories are down 15% or more on this now.
