Just how many helmets do you have btw?
jape,
Thanks for the complement.
I have three helmets here in Florida and three in North Carolina so I don't have to carry them back and forth on my migration. Oh and two more coming from the Dang Fong vendor as a gift for all the trouble that they have caused me. Of course the helmets are not here yet nor is the paper work or the tools but they are in the mail:rolleyes1:
Here are Some Pics. I included the dolly I made to get the bike from the street to my garage

Sweet! man that bobber looks so damn good!
I guess I will have to order mine tomorrow =)
Few things you might want to do cosmetically and cheaply, drag bars and also remove that plastic can for the electrics swap it out with this one http://www.tcbroschoppers.com/store/...roducts_id=128 they also sell the drag bars very cheap. Actually I'm sure you can find anything you need from that site including a more comfortable seat.
As for making the bike run cooler and getting maybe .02hp back remove that EGR, it should keep the motor about 10F cooler without it. I can foresee in the future rejetting and opening up the exhaust slightly with either a straight pipe or a little bit longer angled up.
I feel bad for my girlfriend so I'll wind up making a clip-on passenger seat in the coming months as well. I would love to see if the kikker5150 springer front end would fit as well =) Like I said the things you can do to this bike are limitless. I know barnone would like to see that 400cc in here and I don't blame him at all the 200cc barely cuts it. I'm sure if this is the honda clone we might be able to find a big bore kit and bump it up to 300cc but I don't know how reliable it would be... Once I get my paws on one of these I'm sure I can figure it all out =) Actually just found the big bore kits: http://www.chinese-parts-canada.com/...bore_kits.html
Aboshi,
First thing I did was remove the SAI (Secondary Air Injection) and cover the hole with a aluminum plate and plug the hose on the intake manifold with a bolt. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0647.jpg
Good find on the bore upgrade kit. I tried to send that company a message asking them to pursue the 400cc engine but was unable to get past their anti spam blocker.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/37...ine_400cc.html
I did get a conversation going with Mr. Bryon Zhou and he said that his company did not produce that engine. I asked him who did produce that engine but got no reponse. Might be vapor ware as some have suggested.
Like your idea of replacing the plastic oil tank with a metal one. Good to have others getting this bike and coming up with more ideas.
Need a little breather to eliminate that hose that goes to the oil tank.
Gardo,
Great photos.:riding:
My pallet was also badly damaged but not as bad as yours.
Bike is looking good.
After looking at those pics again, it looks like you can take that breather tube from the case and attach it to where you installed the block of plate for the EGR.
This is called a pair sucker mod, its usually used on 2002 + GSXR 750's and other race bikes and typically costs around $2k+, but it was as easy as just attaching a hose for $1 and gaining 12hp. What it does is creates negative pressure inside the case removing all the air so the oil can flow without friction. I would have to do a test on this motor to see if the pair sucker mod would work but if it does it would 100% add at least 1hp and make the engine run a lot better.
Good news for me. Received the correct MSO and bill of sale today and rushed over to the Tax Collector's Office and got her registered and tagged. Only took a month from when I ordered her to get the correct paperwork.
The promised tools and helmets have not arrived.
I'm now legal with the bike.
awesome!!
I think I am going to have to go through scooterdepot as well... countyimports is trying to now charge $100 more and the excuse the guy gave me was oh they are going to be flying out the door... meanwhile on their site they say they match or beat anyones prices and just yesterday they had it listed for $2195 + free shipping...
so that is a red flag for me to stay far away from them. unless they will do right and charge the proper price. I know that these bikes only cost $998 wholesale from 1-100 units so you can see they have 100% markup :P
Gardo:
Did you buy yours from scooterdepot as well?
cool deal I hope they don't screw you around on the MSO like they did with barnone.
now it looks like its time to find a cheap insurer for these bikes =)
I called progressive and I don't have a vin to give them yet so they compared it to a zx250r so the quotes were:
$206 for the year basic liability
or
$700 for the year full coverage
$700 seems a little excessive for a bike that costs just over $2k... So it might not even be worth it because it would be cheaper to just buy another bike if you mangle it that bad. On the other hand you would only need 6 months of insurance up here in the north.
If you don't mind me asking how much were you guys able to insure the bike for and what Co. did you go though. The only reason I called progressive is that I used them years ago and for motorcycle insurance they were unmatched. I was getting paid out the second I wrecked a bike or when one was stolen.
Really they are an alias for scooterdepot, well damn. I had a buddy by the150cc Trike Chopper last year from extremescooters and nothing but issues getting the MSO.
But another buddy bought an ATV from scooterdepot and had a good expirience. So I went with them.
So far been Ok, their telephone service sucks, expect to sit on hold 20+ minutes.
I sent them the request for the MSO and said I'd pay for the UPS 3 day. Let's see if I get a human to respond.
And BTW I'm so hooked to this site, I just responded from my blackberry
Hey congratulations Barnone, i'm delighted that it's all sorted out! For a while there it almost looked like it was all a lie about the road legality of that bike.
Still though, dealing with the fuckers does not sound like fun... China bikes are getting better, but for support they really need to pull the finger out!
felix,
I'm still concerned about the road legality of the bike because there is no way that muffler/exhaust system could have passed a EPA noise test. It's a straight through can that is so loud that it hurts my ears. I now have about 12 inches of baffle stuck up it and still it's too loud.
When I was getting the bike registered, the lady kept muttering to herself about can't find this or that and then going to talk to her supervisor. She couldn't find the manufacturer listed in her database and called someone and got it added. Said it was the first time one was registered in Florida and maybe nation wide.
I sat there squirming. There was a big scandal several years ago about screwed up registrations and cutting corners so that they stick to the book and keep looking at all the paper work. Don't screw up the paper work, if you do you are up sh*t creek without a paddle. I signed the MSO for my Pitster Pro bike in the wrong place and almost went to jail (just kidding).
BTW, I've had similar problems with local Japanese bike dealers.
as long as the tags are on the frame I am good to go. There is no inspection in New Jersey.
I may baffle it just to make my neighbors happy but then again riding in NJ I may want to keep loud
Another thing that had me worried was the way the crankcase breather hose is connected to the dummy oil tank instead of to an air box or air filter.
I just installed a crankcase breather filter to remove that hose to the dummy tank that contains the electrics. Didn't want a bunch of oil or fumes getting in there.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0671.jpg
I got ya, even still if that is creating a negative pressure (sucking in) you should connect that to the crank case breather. Once in a blue moon it might suck some oil but thats perfectly fine. It will create a negative pressure inside the crankcase removing all the air in there to reduce friction and let the oil flow much better. I have done this on every one of my race bikes in the past, and a few for street use, the only ones I didn't do the pair sucker mod on were my stunt bikes due to getting tipped over all the time and draining oil into the hose. It is a bit worse for the environment though because it will burn off oil if it gets sucked up. I am going to put an order in for one of these today and if I have no issues getting it regged I'll wind up getting the rest I need =)
I'll keep you all posted.
The port that the plate is covering is in the exhaust port so it would create a positive pressure (exhaust gas). I removed the SAI (what we use to call a smog pump) and it pumps outside air into that port.

Felt guilty so went out to our cottage and supervised my wife's painting.
Barnone, there is a tribble on your seat. Yea the Bike is a magnet, just sittin in my driveway i had a few women stop and ask about it.
oh and BTW i got an email and a phone call that my filled out MCO will be here on Monday.
Lookin good =)
Well I just ordered mine as well from countyimports.com =)
It came out to $2,249.49 - that was with the $50 discount, it seems they bumped the price up $100 from 2 days ago but I'm not gonna cry over it :P
I am going to tell them to throw in the helmet for $0.01 - I didn't see that deal because I called it in over the phone to place the order, but I'm sure they will toss it in.
Now I'm not going to be able to sleep till I get this bike in my parking spot =)
Gordo,
Good news about your MSO. Maybe I just got a new person at extreme. I mean it's not rocket science to send out a correct MSO and bill of sale.
Yep, it gets a lot of attention. Anybody on this site have a bike business in the USA? I could send a lot of business your way.
I keep forgetting to mention that I checked the valves on my bike at 200 miles and they were too tight. Easy enough to adjust.
are there any docs on adjusting the valves? I read somewhere the first thing you do out of the create with these chinese bike was to check/adjust the valves, But I cant recall where I saw it at.
