Did you not notice how electric problems on Ducati's disappeared in recent years?
Seriously, electrics were a real pita on older Ducati's, guess they realised this as well.

The company sold off the motorcycles manufacturing...years ago.

To all those who doubt CFMoto 650 NK's reliability: today's weather was like this:
Attachment 10221
yet the bike started as usual and rode as usual after some cleaning and a warm-up. The bike is kept outside in all weather conditions and is ridden in all weather conditions on purpose. Call it a long-term reliability test.
So far so good.
Oh, you sadist...
New word for you - motorcycle cover.
OK, right, finally!
Something happened!
Yesterday morning I noticed that the front fork seal (left leg) went bust and oil was spilling out of it.
Attachment 10272
Probably it's because of the bad weather or bad road conditions or whatever else, but then again, why's that not both fork seals in both legs then?
Anyways, last night I rode over to the dealer (南京曹记车行)and the dealer promised to fix that the next day (today, that is) for FREE since the bike's got a warranty.
I guess it's all after bikerdoc contacted the right people and the right people gave 曹记 a call and explained him a thing or two about customer service.
Well, they changed the whole leg assembly (right, all of it) within 45 minutes.
Good job, I'm impressed. Even more impressed that they actually had the part in their shop and I didn't have to wait for like a month or so to have it ordered - delivered and all that.
Keep it up, guys, and you're bound to change the market :)
Great news that you got the fork swapped out without much fuss other than some inconvenience. On another note related to CFMoto. I have inside info that the planned CFMoto 650 twin (using the same engine as the 650NK & 650TR) D/S ADVenture styled bike won't be far off. Preproduction models have been made and are undergoing testing currently. Top secret as I have been told, so many don't know about it. No firm details on release dates yet, after all preproduction data needs to be collected and reviewed before full production beginning. ;)
Also the CFMoto 650TR which is released by the factory in either of three colours; black, silver/grey, or red, has seen a limited/special production run of some 50 bikes painted by the factory in white. Only available as a one time only deal (within the next few weeks), even many CFMoto dealers don't know about this.
I'm off to CFMoto factory in HZ within the next 2 weeks, will report back to MCM more related info if I get any.
Great news on CFMoto taking care of you. To be fair, I have had seal blow out on new on a 2 week old Honda XR650L (and these have a bullet proof reputation) and have seen a complete blowout on the front spring/damper assembly on a BMW R1200GSA with less than 5,000 miles. (talk about an expensive cock up) Also, the roads in Nanjing are more suited for 9+ inches of off road travel than the average crotch rocket suspension of half that. I only point these out so as to keep a seal blow out incident in perspective. It happens to the best. Ask any off road rider about changing a seal and 9 of 10 have so much practice they can do it themselves in less than an hour easily from all the practice they have had.
Steve, when warranty expires, for fixing oil leakage (not always, but in some cases helps), try to buy or make yourself, cleaners for oil seals such are Seal Mate or Seal Doctor. It's a five minute job.
Steve, how many kms you got on the CFMoto so far?
Seeing how the first two versions are based on Kawasaki bikes (ER650 and the Concours), my guess is the dual sport will look like a KLR.
Awhile back i was shown a concept photo of the 650 dualsport design ( not sure if it was an offical image ) it showed a very KLR like bike to which I showed great interest in. The CF Moto rep (didn't get his name) said that they were going to build it within a year. That was more then a year ago. So when it was not mentioned at Chong Qing, many people assumed it was moth balled. Even now I ask and here nothing about the bike. I would really like to go to the factory one nice day and poke around with the managment to find out more... That could be a very good bike indeed... I am affraid however it may never be built!
I cannot see how it would end looking like a KLR, I would expect a Versys like adventure bike, based on the platform.

Not wanting to repeat myself as I commented on this just recently in several CFMoto threads here. The pre-production 650 Dual Sport/ADV model is currently undergoing testing. It's all very secretive, so few outside of R&D CFMoto know anything about it. A little like the 650NK when it was first making the rumour mill, there were plenty around who thought the whole thing was hocus pocus. I knew then that it was real, and saw the preproduction model myself so I knew then that the NK was at least more than a pencil line rendering. I also saw directly the design renderings of the 650TR though the model at the time was not finalised. As for many not knowing about the 650 Dually same can be said about the new to be released white model 650TR limited 50 units. Should be available in 2-4 weeks time. Few CFMoto dealers know about these, even the Zhejiang distributor didn't know about them and didn't believe me that these were being released. After my conversation with him, he made his call to the factory and within several minutes he called me back and confirmed what I told him. 50 special one off white 650TR's. Nuff said!

One of these??? Its nice...
I like the 650TR which in my opinion looks similar to the Yamaha FJR.
I would buy a 650TR if it had cruise control like the FJR.
I simply installed a friction based throttle mounted "cruise control". Really simple to use. But the realityis that for the most part I have had little oppurtunity to us it... There just isn't enough clean clear and open roads to use it on. While on the expressways yeah okay sure.... But we don't have that oppurtunity thay often.
On a side note. The NK and TR will be getting ABS in the future and previous model bikes will be retrofitted (at our choice and expense). I assume it is so they can be sold in Europe next year when the ABS requirement goes in effect...
FJRforum owners in the US recommend getting ABS.
It is nice of CFmoto to retrofit bikes with ABS. Sounds to me that they the customer in mind.
Well, if there IS a new dual sport out, I'll most likely consider getting it over my 650 NK.
Bikerdoc, any idea if CFMoto has a supermoto in their plans? Maybe??? Please, tell me they do...
ZMC888, I have 7200 km on the bike, most of it being city riding.
Steve, 7,200 kms and one blown fork seal the only problem? OK I'm saving! :riding::riding:
Anyone know, what are the current prices for the NK, and how much more will the ABS version likely be, and when will it be released....doc?
Right, 7200km and one blown fork seal. Nothing else. The bike is stored outside in any weather, subjected to the elements on purpose. Maintenance is done according to the manual - I'm a good owner. Of sorts. I ride it daily - to and from work; longer trips in summer. And yes, I ride it in the rain. Pretty sturdy for a Chinabike, isn't it?
The price now is ≈ 39800 (that's without the plates). Never heard about the ABS version though...
ABS is the only way to go....if available.. and i would purchase it was safety reason at any cost...unfortunately...it is likely to be another 4000 or so for a good abs integrated system..if would think...
IMO the white TR650 looks like a police bike and I've had many white cars....though unique..as motorcyclea in china being white...the chinese love white cars....that is why i have seen in inordinate number of White Ferraris in china and Hong kong....but then again...i have seen pink porsche etc...
I'm a good owner OF SORTS :)
Guys, i'm embarrassed to finally post again, but its been a crazy 6 months. 120,000 miles of travel later, i'm finally getting some time on the bike again. I don't have 7k on the odometer yet like Steve, but I would agree with the reliability comments. My bike has been a tank reliability-wise. not a single problem. I haven't been able to do many of the mods I'd like, but hoping to swap exhaust and make some body/fairing changes this month. winter is finally lifting in Beijing, and the roads are calling...
Hi, from Argentina. I buy this bike. Some of you could solve the vibration in the mirrors at high speed. Its the only annoying trouble with this bike. Please post the solution to this.
I posted about my visit to CFMoto last week elsewhere in another thread. OK, so the upshot was that CFMoto sources at the company will neither confirm nor deny the 650 adventure / dual sport. When pushed really a lot about it, simply told us that there is some tie up between CFMoto and KTM, and that PERHAPS this might take the form of something like a CFMoto version based something around the 990ADV but with the CFMoto 650 twin. Who knows, that's as much as I could get on the day. While no one at CFMoto would stick their handup and confirm it, given all my enquiries and discussions, it seems likely it's more than just a rumour, given that info has come to me via so many different sources, plus it was discussed briefly in one Australian motorcycle mag. I've one more acquaintance (he's ex-CFMoto marketing) to try and press for more inside info. But no guarantees he'll be able to get anything more.
Hey Y'all got myself a 650 NK bout a month or so ago, comin to y'all from Australia. Lovin the bike! Just cracked 1500 and alls fine. I have the AUS LAMS approved version so I'm getting robbed of about 15HP or so, have looked at changing pipes etc but the big Q is has any1 looked at fiting as powercomander V to 1 of these bikes! The boys here in Oz are new to this bike an are curious because its cheap and big bore and we want to play with it! Figure its all in the ECU but were worried about the O2 sensors and the intake/exhaust. Would like to MOD this bike and maybe look at doing a NKS aftermarket version( and I think you would all be very interested in the project!)
