Still lovin my DF
WOT on flat ground. Wouldn't want to keep her there for long as she's screaming.
barnone, since you're the one who started this thread and had the bike for 2 years now, how would you rate the bike? Any parts you replace since then? I'm planning to buy one, but don't know how reliable chinese bikes are.
you could have posted something about this before, but 437 pages is hard to scroll ;)
Thanks
Maybe bowtiewagon with about 10,000 miles on his 2010 will chime in with his experience.
I just tried a different air cleaner and still had the cutting out problem at 6k RPM. Then went back to the 105 main from the 108 and now have the cutting out problem at 7k RPM at 65 MPH indicated. Maybe I will be happy with that for now.
(Note: remember with no air cleaner my 2012 DF would run up to 7500 RPM with no cutting out but like Bob said, you don't want to stay there long.)
Pulled the intake manifold off and there is a smooth run to the intake valve.
I bought this bike because I am a poor working class man. I needed some cheap transportation.
I did not want to ride a scooter any more, and when I saw it on scooter depot it was the right fit for me. I am proud to say that my 2010 DF has never given me any troubles other than small set backs, which I hear are also the types of things that occur on many higher dollar bikes. I have just under 10,000 miles on it, I ride daily, rain or shine. (It is my go to ride to work, and sometimes it may be raining when I leave...but I gotta get home now don't I)
As for the items that have given me issues, they were nothing that were costly, and easily replaced for better quality products. The motor has been great, although I am due for an oil change. In fact I have yet to replace the spark plug. Yes that is correct, it is the original spark plug the bike came with from the factory. I see no need to replace it if it isn't broke. My bike is not a beauty queen, I am more of a rat bike kinda guy. so no fancy chrome, no fancy paint, nothing extra that I do not need.I do like what a lot of people have done to their bikes, but not for me.
I changed the sprocket to a 35 tooth, I added a set of saddle bags( with my own bracket to hold them on). The headlight was changed out for an auto mobile headlight. The handle bars were changed to mini apes for my comfort. and she runs and goes just like the first day I got her. For the money she is what she is. and I think she has paid me back with the cost savings at least twice now.
Just working out the details to replace the cush bushings( thanks axa for the terminology) gonna look more into that this weekend at a Honda dealership.
On that note I have measured them, they are 7/8" deep and about 1" wide. The part number 41241-307-010 I found looks to be the same, but I have yet to see one in person and hesitate to order offline. I will find out this weekend if the dealer has any. fingers crossed.
Best bang for the buck this bike is. I recommend it anyone and everyone that looks at her.
