Torque really depends on gearing.
250cc is 250cc, whether it comes in single or dual cylinder.
If anything, a parallel twin is probably the best of both worlds, less vibration, more continuous power, higher revs.
HP is what's important. Torque can easily be converted to higher top speed, when selecting taller gears.

Is it just me or does anyone find it real annoying moving your foot around the stock shift peg.
I keep forgetting to mention it, but Ive been experimenting with a shorter and thinner pegs for the forward shift control.
Ive now turned and cut it down to 5/8" diameter, 1 1/4" long, and find that pretty comfortable

I also asked for wholesale price on 20 DFs but didn't get that price. Will try again.
The Red Bike below is a photochop job of the factory paint Blue Bike. Does anybody like the Red, or would you stick with the blue? I thought I wanted to paint it red, but I'm having second thoughts after seeing the image.

Well, you could go brown and green army color, or blue and grey, navy color.
The orange you mention is often called sunset orange. I had a chinese scooter like that and loved the color, especially in Miami!
In other places, like NY, where the weather is cold and grey, black seems more appropriate, as it attracts the heat.
I've always wanted a white bike.
