Yingang have a new export manager called Prince Zhang, I'll ask him about export figures. I know that they took a hit in the Iranian market (which was their biggest) because of new COC specifications (EFI mainly).

EFI on C-motos - one more subject which deserves at least few articles in C2W.
have a friend who bought same time with me a Shineray X2.
While mine is running well with carburetor since 4k km his bike is more or less permanently in the repair shop because of electrical / EFI problems.
I guess it take our chinese Moto makers still a while to get some reliable stuff ready.
The problem is that Chinese developed EFI is not perfected. I get contacted by many international EFI technical guys who want to come in to China and get picked up by the bigger factories. It's the same story with other electric controls and smart ignition etc. Also ABS and CBS, superchargers and all sort of stuff, all come in from foreign technology lads.
That name has historical significance in China, unfortunately its another less then ideal name to have when working within foreign markets, its distracting as are so many of the names the Chinese business people chose. A name that would be commonly perceived and silly, is what he will be forced to start off with and in that not taken seriously. I heard it allot, they have perceptions of names that are not in alignment with what are common perceptions. They claim, easy to say, like the way it sounds with out regard.

I remember when i first came to China dealing with many people called 'Jack' and 'Rose' because of the Titanic phenomenon. Also many lads called Owen and Beckham after the footballers.
I do think the export staff at motorcycle factories need to adopt an English name purely for convenience, maybe they should name themselves after the Minions, then they would have sensible names.
Next issue of C2W will be ready to read on the 8th November.
I am looking forward to reading the next addition, maybe you can make this thread a 'Sticky' then it will stay at the top of the category? The other stickies are kind of outdated, maybe there could be a category for trade shows? Everyone seems to enjoy photo shoots and narratives from the trade shows.
Good idea about the trade shows, they're all over now until next April though (except for a small 2-wheel showing at the Automechanica in Shanghai which is mainly cars.
I'll put up a Canton fair post from last month after I finish the next C2W issue next week.
MJH, I won't make this thread a sticky as we'll have a new issue every month. Maybe better to have a forum for C2W then people can read the old issues from this site.
