Aboshi,
That does look bad.
Is that white stuff in this photo salt?

I don't know why it would rust that fast from just water. My DF has gotten wet from rain and washing and I don't have any rust on the bike.

I am thinking that Aboshi has the newer model as compared to barnone's due to the different chrome v. blacked out hardware. I wonder if the newer ones have a poorer quality chrome?
Other no such thing on these bikes. From I what I have heard from a number of people is that some of these companies show up and then disapear. Not sure if this will be the case since there is no real information on the company that makes the bike. they have a couple models all based on the same frame. Right now they are available and the engine is either a Zongshen as per the video or a lifan. You would possibly be able to find parts shopping around but there is no real support for the bike if you have any issues.
When I had the bike, before it was sent it back, the mock oil tank was broken when it was delivered. I called them right away but the part never showed up after 6 weeks. then it was a mute point because i had to send the bike back.
Thats when I bought a CCW tha Heist. There is a growing amount of dealer support and parts are readily available. yes the bikes are assembled in China but they go through such massive quality checks before even going to a dealer and a pre PDI check. Then the dealer does the PDI.
There still a question as to if this bike is legal in NY, and PA. We know that it is not in NJ. Rzight now we know of 2 bikes that are regged one is Barnones in FL and the other we dont know yet.
I got my $ back the day I did the charge-back, and they wont respond to AMEX or the BBB so after 60 days from the day I did the charge-back it becomes abandon property =)
Thats NY state law, but the charge-back investigation can last up to 90 days... So its a catch 22 and I wont be doing anything with this thing till the 90 days are up + I have been charging them $20 a day for storage so at this point it really isn't worth it for them to pick it up... They had also claimed a few weeks back that they would send a truck to pick it up and I never heard back from them... So for now this thing will just continue to turn into a pile of rust :P
Gardo,
How many times do we have to go over this?
The DF is manufactured by Ningbo Dongfang Lingyun Co according to the plate on the frame. http://dfly.en.alibaba.com/aboutus.html
The Heist is manufactured by Qingqi Rhon http://www.motor-rhon.com/
Both are large Chinese companies and these bikes are completely sourced in China.
As far as DF or Heist staying in business, that is a unanswered question. A person probably shouldn't buy either bike if they are depending on the company staying in business. They should buy a Honda, Yamaha, Harley, etc.
You have a valid point Vince and I agree. One thing is for sure both bikes are good looking machines, and for anyone thats gets one I wish them the best of luck on both.
I also have info from a friend in HK, he looked into the 400cc engine and said it doesn't exist that a lot of stuff on Alibaba are old posts that they just dont take them down.
Just passed 900 miles today on my DF and she is running just fine. Got 71 MPG city and highway mix today.
