Registration of a New Vehicle
Most new vehicles that are purchased from licensed dealerships will be registered by the dealer. However, there may be instances where an individual may register a new vehicle.
Any individual requesting a new registration at the DMV is required to be present at the branch office to process their transaction. If the vehicle is going to be registered two names, the primary registrant must be present.
The following documents will be required in order to register a new vehicle:
- Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin assigned by dealer to new owner, listing any lien holders.
- Federal Odometer Statement.
- Bill of Sale issued by dealership.
- Application for Registration and Certificate of Title (form H-13). Sales tax information must be completed on the application.
- A current Connecticut Insurance Identification Card, which can be obtained from your insurance company. The insurance card must be in the name of registered owner(s) of vehicle. If vehicle is being leased, the insurance card may be in the name of the lessee.
- Identification will be required to register a vehicle. Please see list of Acceptable Forms of Identification.
- Fees vary by type of vehicle.
Note: Vehicles cannot be registered if delinquent property tax or parking tickets are owed or if the registrant has had his/her registration privilege suspended.

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
IN ORDER TO REGISTER A MOTORCYCLE IN CONNECTICUT, IT MUST FIRST BE INSPECTED IF ALL OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY:
- The motorcycle was purchased/obtained from a person or business that is not a Connecticut licensed dealer; AND
- The manufacturer of the motorcycle does not have a manufacturer’s license in Connecticut. (You may check the manufacturer’s license status in an Excel Spreadsheet or in a PDF document); AND
- The motorcycle was never previously registered in Connecticut. This is to insure that the motorcycle meets minimum equipment and safety standards in this state. The Wethersfield inspection lane will handle all inspections of this type. If your motorcycle passes the inspection, there is a $10.00 administrative fee in addition to the fee for registration. If you have questions you may call 860-263-5080. At this time the hours for the Wethersfield lanes are:
Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You missed this paragraph. Open the PDF file and see that the Dongfang and or dealer or Mfg. is NOT listed. Hence you are "invited" to leave the MVD. (they refuse to inspect the motorcycle).
I tried three different times. I now own a motorcycle I cannot register in this state. The shipping $$$ kills any hope of out of state sale.
Of course the sunny sports dealer refuses to take it back. In the spring, I am going to attempt to sell it to a dealer in Maine.
Gardo... Do you see if CCW is on the CT. list ? There is a dealer in the state, but I have no idea if he has sold any HEISTs yet.

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
So these states require a fee to get a manufacturing license? Fucking bureaucrats.
"A check in the amount of $2,300 made payable to: "DMV" " from http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=799&q=260368
I don't see CCW on the list. What name are the CCW bikes manufactured under?
-
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
My god, I hope there is some way to work this out with your state. It would break my heart to separate me & my bike. Have you considered the back door, with a state senator?

I would take Scooter Depot to small claims court and file fraud on them then, if you cannot legally register the bike in a state that they claim is legit they need to take that shit back.
Cleveland CycleWerks bikes are Legal in all 50 States, some states they are listed with QLINK. The after sales support is top notch, and the growing community is just as passionate as you DF guys. lots of mods and custom jobs with the Heists. plus there is a growing amount of CCW specific after market stuff.... I could go on but Barnone might get mad at me lol.
Tough break on the DF Mailman I've been there

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Has to be inspected…not cannot be inspected.
“IN ORDER TO REGISTER A MOTORCYCLE IN CONNECTICUT, IT MUST FIRST BE INSPECTED IF ALL OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY;”
All three criteria must be true, apposed to any one being false. If any are false then the vehicle does not need to be inspected.

Gardo,
Are the CCW bikes really legal in 50 states if they don't appear on the CT lists? You might need to reconsider your signature line.
As a mouth piece for CCW and since you seem to know all the inside information, can you tell me how CCW uses Qlink as a manufacturer in CT? Sounds a little illegal to me.
Or does CCW actually manufacture anything? Do they just re-badge bikes from Qlink, etc.?
-
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I would say that based on what you presented that the vehicle can only be refused registration if it cannot pass a state of Connecticut safety inspection.
The policy as it is written actually contradicts your scenario, it states that it must be inspected if the manufacturer does not have a State of Conn Manufacturers License, not that it cannot be inspected.
That is what, if any of this is true, should be presented to the this office for assistance,

Yup got you all heated with me... What does your Title say Vince for the DF, it no lie that they have partnered up with other companies, and they have shown that they have come up with the tha Heist, manufacture it and also that they will be manufacturing in the States within the next few years. Why are you hating on them so much. That is a good thing they are trying to do. Bring a quality affordable, product to market.
the CCW bikes can be registered in all 50 states which includes CA, NJ, PA and CT unlike the DF brand bikes. Fact is fact and I can register a stock Heist anywhere in the states, get it to pass inspection, and be 100% legit. Can the same be said about the DF?
The big issue is that these drop shippers don't know, unless a guy like you, me and mailman try to register it. they gamble with the consumer.
Oh and Vince i am a consumer just like you I dont work for these guys or their affiliates but I am passionate about my scoot

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Qlink Dealers
Enter 06704
You will get the only Qlink dealer located in Conn.
Call them and ask them if they will help you get your bike registered.

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
PIT has a dealer in CONN, its Ride One Motorcycle, LLC
145 Whiting Street
Plainville, CT 06062
860 351-5350
Is there a law that says that any vehicle sold in CONN has to have its manufacturer licensed?
If so then someone needs to tell FIAT as they are not on the list.

I went round with MVD and the only positive thing to come out of it was to get them to put their "secret list of out of state dealers" on their web site.
Some of their employees had no idea the list even existed. (the old left hand does not know what the right hand is doing).
As I said before, there is a dealer in Maine who had 3 DFs and now has one. "maybe" I can work a deal with him to buy Mine. I only have less than one mile on it.

Gordo,
Sorry if I hurt you little feelings but if you are not getting money from CCW/PIT then you should for being such a good spin doctor.
Where do you get all you spin if not from CCW? How else would you know that CCW uses Qlink as a manufacturer's name in CT?
Why am I a hater for challenging your incorrect statements?
I am not passionate about my DF. It is a nice $2000 Chinese motorcycle like the Heist and nothing more.
And it does not make economic sense for CCW to build bikes in the USA when they can get people to pay $3k plus for bikes that cost much less than $1k to import from China.

Gardo,
Did I say you were incorrect about the CCW heist being legal in fifty states? It's just under different manufacturers names I guess. We all know the DF is not legal in CA because of lack of CARB certification. Why it is not legal in the other states seems to because Sunny didn't pay the registration fees in those states to get it on their list.
Your incorrect statements are about the 250cc engine, the 100% total proprietary claim, the CCW ownership of the Chinese manufacturer of the heist, and many other like statements.
Again where did you get the info about Qlink in CT if not from CCW? Is that what they do in the other 49 states? Ask CCW, please.

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I notified Chad at http://www.extremescooters.biz/250cc...r-chopper.aspx that the DF bobber could not be registered in CT and he updated his company's web site. If there are any other states that won't register a DF bobber please let Chad at sales@extremescooters.biz know. He seems to want to have the correct information unlike others.

On a lighter note, Got my new headlamp. Found a 60/55W H-4 Halogen 7" Black . Test hooked & did fine. Getting a new tank soon, therefore making adjustments now for the tunnel width to allow wires to fit. Removed Speedo, clean Bobber look. Will miss neutral light, will work out how to remove from gauge & put it somewhere. Tailight replacement & Horn coming. Old retro look. Working off my Father's photo of his Indian before he went to War.

7" Halogen lamp with a separate parking lamp, attached. Dennis Kirk was the source. No schematic & wires were Black or yellow. Their tech folks helped to figure out proper connections. Remove headlamp bracket assembly from DF & used the 3/8 bolt hole to screw in new bracket. Heavy construction, no plastic. Very bright. Came with 16 gauge wires, we have a 22 for lighting. No fuse change, seems to be happy. Will let you know if it blows anything. Keep in mind no riding til better temps outside.

Its been years sense I painted from bare metal. Can you recommend a good source to catch back up with a paint finish that avoids gas damage? Tank tracking to arrive Monday. Business slow expect to dig in right away.

I know guys who swear by bedliner for this kind of job, if you want that flat black matte look. Comes cheap in a rattle can.
That tank is going to make a big difference in the overall look, and get you a lot closer to replicating that excellent James Dean look of Gun Rod Senior. Fantastic picture. Precious as it surely is, I can't resist asking: Were other pictures taken that day, or other days? Awesome!
cheers

Mom took the picture of Dad in Grandfather's front yard, they were dating. Pictures then were few. I do remember a side shot with Mom in a bathing suit. But when I requested they just mumbled, it may be a private thing. Mom is still goregeous (for her age), Dad now resembles Mr Potter (In a Wonderful Life). Wonderful parents, mom has been Dorris Day & Dad a wealthy Archi Buncker. Two opposites attract.
JKP ! BEDLINER! for the love pete never.
Harley has a egg shell black called Denim Black,.
Looking for a traditional paint job advise with fuel resistance.
