Is that the best you can do?

I will try to explain it to you again,
If you order one of those 500cc engines and it is held up in customs, then the only way to get it released would be to have an EPA certificate number for the Spark 500, because that is where the engine is identified as compliant.

Thank You,
I do not speak for Zorge, but he and I both share a passion for the industry. In that over the years I have gained some knowledge of the industry. I share it regularly in that you can gain some insight, reading some of the threads is like an adventure down a rabbit hole, you never know where it begins or ends.
Hey guys,
Just picked up a 2013 Heist.
Attachment 17405
Is this about the only forum around to discuss it?
Looking forward to customizing it!
Plans are:
G&D long exhaust
Jet kit (which jet should I use? 102?)
Sprocket (recomendations?)
Chain Guard
Otherwise some exterior mods are on the list too!!
Also is Weaver out of business??? Wanted my carb done but website appears to be gone
I have been looking at this thread for a while now as a result of a web search. I found Tha Heist on the web while I was looking for Motorized Bicycles. I did some searching and found there is a dealer less than a mile from my house. Who knew? never seen one of these bikes before. All the pics here I have seen look great and am planning on moving forward and go check these out next week. Trying to get a little cash together. So I guess the question I will present here is this. Is the 2015 Heist a good buy? Is it the same as the ones pictured here?
There are no 2014-15, the last year they imported those was 2013.
I could be wrong, however I download a list of motorcycle off the EPA website each year, I do that just to check to see who is selling what in North America. CCW has not had a certificate since 2013 for a road model.
So if you see a Misfit or a Heist for sale it be a 2013 or older, unless the EPA forgot to add them to the list, which is possible, but that is not that likely.
There are a few people selling vehicles with that 229cc OHV engine, only Bashan has a certificate for 2015 and they have a blanket one that covers both the 200 and 229cc Dual Sports, they sell those for about $1300-$1800, the Hiest is a cool motorcycle but pricey for made in China.

I am pretty sure that dealer can only title vehicle with the year they are made and that is actually in the Vehicle Identification Tag, there is a way to check it, it is coded in there by law.
And, I understand these bikes are not legal in California, so some sellers in that state have dropped them. That's what I was told by a dealer. Since I live in Hawaii, I was looking in to someone in the San Diego area, because that is close to a company that ships motorcycle to Hawaii via their ships.
I just came back from the dealer and he has tha Heist listed and being sold as a 2015. He also has the rest of the CCW bikes there. Here is the link to the dealer here in San Antonio Texas. http://www.tmsbodacious.com/ They have some Heist still in the crate they just got in.
I looked around and the bikes look good. I am really considering buying one of the Heist. They are bigger than I though.
Something is not right I checked again and they do not have anything on the EPA list for 2015?
They also have the Ace on their website listed as a 2015 and for sale online…
The last EPA certificates are in 2013 : DCCWC.250QJC-001
It is possible that they are late entries, they do have certificates for 2016? A whole bunch!

New is 2016, but who knows?
They list the manufacturer for the Heist as Qingqi Rhon, same as it always has been, but the Misfit now has Qingqi Dalong as its OEM and Jinan Qingqi for the Ace. The Engines still all as Lifan.
If you want to verify the year...then enter the first three character off the vehicle Identification Tag on the bike here into the field named "WMI", That will bring up the files for decoding the VIN, the documents are hyperlinked tell you how to determine the year.
Hmm, We have 2014's and 2015's here in Canada.
On another note, when I am in 3rd gear on my Heist if I roll into full throttle its like the engine bogs and I have to back off the throttle so that the bike can continue to accelerate. Is this normal given the power output of the engine? Bike is stock.
That type carburetor has an accelerator pump, it’s supposed to add more fuel when you pull the throttle. It’s the part on the side were the second cable attaches to, if you are opening the throttle it should squirt in gas, it has a spring on it I believe. It may be that I do not have one like that but they all work on the same principal a spring and tension opens and closes it.
Well I went back to the dealer and ordered my Heist yesterday. I talked the wife into me getting one. She is not a bike person. I cant wait to get it home this week and ride. I ordered the mat black. I have a few small mods in mind right off. 12" ape with new cables and brake hose, straight ex to make it load and add the kick start. I figure all the negatives I have run across is things coming loose like the plate I can live with. The engine and main components seam to be solid and I love the look. So I am buying one. I do have to say the dealer does not know much about the bikes they are selling. He told me they were 100% made in the USA. I also straightened him out on the year of the bike. He has it listed as a 2015. When I confronted him with the EPA cert he was fast to tell me it was a 2013 and it is new in the crate. I seen it. But his short comings aside I will get mine next week. He is going to title it and inspect the bike with the Texas DMV and I should have it mid week.
One spec in inches one is metric
0.001 thousands of an inch is 0.0254mm
I have had my Heist for 2 weeks and have put 300 miles on it. Nothing has come loose and have had no issues as of this post. It rides a lot better than I thought it would. No mods yet. It runs highway speeds fine. I run 60-65 to work with out rapping it out. I am about 160lbs , 5'9" tall. So far I think I made a great choice in buying this bike. I have put about $6 in gas.
What is the concensus on cutting the stock exhaust pipe?
Is there a catalyst and a baffler in there?
I want to disassemble and clean the carb, as I have lots of stumbles and poor starts. I figured I would rejet it, do the EVAP block off plate and cut the exhaust (since buying a new pipe from G&D is too much $$$).
Will I get the same gains from just cutting the pipe as ding the G&D exhaust. Any recommendation on which jets to use?
I cut my stock pipe and yes there is a baffle you have to remove. Its not the easiest thing to do so be sure to clean up the cut you made on the pipe before you try to pry it out. My next mod will be the carb. Cutting the pipe has a nice gain in itself but be ready for the noise level if you get over 55mph to be ear busting. At 55mph or less it sounds great. I love the sound and am glad I chopped it. I have over 1000klm on mine and am on it 5 days a week at least.
As far as what every one negative said about the bike I will say this. I have replaced 2 light bulbs, adjusted the chain once, tightened the mirrors once, adjusted the seat and locked the bolts down as it had too much wobble side to side causing the big to wobble a lot at 60mph. I have had nothing fall off yet. I will be updating this again in a week or so.
2 and 4 sounds right
4 thou for exhaust as it's the hotter
Intake is cooler air etc
Morning all

Hi, does anyone know what the JT part number is for the front sprocket for the Hesit? I am trying to order a 16t online.
Interesting - from my measurements the JTF259 has a minor diameter too big at 18mm, I am measureing around 16.5mm (lets say 17mm). Then the JTF1264 spline key size is too big at 5mm (I measure 4mm). Closest to me looks like a JTF1263 which is a 16mm inner diameter, mount that on the lathe and grind or bore it out to 17mm.
