I went from the OEM CST tyres to Bridgestone Battlax's as documented in this thread. This required some modification to the centre stand since the OEM tyres are low profile. The larger Bridgestone's clear the swingarm okay and there's enough room under the front mudguard/fender so I didn't need to raise that. I was okay with the OEM tyres (CST if my memory serves me correctly), though I did find that the rear tyre started to 'square off' approaching the 9-10K mark. Also I found that as the rear OEM tyre got closer to the 10K km mileage mark they were more prone to experience punctures. One such rear ended up with like 4-5 plugged punctures. I ended up pulling that tyre off and replacing it when it likely could have provided a further 2K km. I still have a new OEM rear tyre sitting in my garage but I prefer to fit the Bridgestones instead. Just a personal preference.
More than happy with the performance of the Bridgestones.
Hello, I have got my Jetmax last night, and of course start the problems. The engine does a weird sound as metallic (like a small bells I don't know how to describe). No matter if stopped or moving. The technician (Chinese) said that for a chinese scooter it is normal. So I have showed to him a video where there is the sound of the Jetmax engine totally normal. What this sound could be? Valves? or what? Could someone help me?
Thanks in advance
Hi, I experienced a similar type of weird sound when using minor quality gasoline in one of my bikes some years back...maybe a first easy thing to check, if not yet done.
Thanks, I will check
Perhaps you had a lower octane/grade of petrol? Check out AKI = Anti Knock Index...
my BMW GS has a AKI 87 means equivalent 91 RON. If use less than that then there will be an audible knock inside the engine (Some might refer to 'pinging' sound) especially under load. Gently does it... if one can only find a lower than recommended octane gasoline/petrol.
Hello, in China there are only two kinds: 92 and 95. The shop gave me the motorcycle already full. So I don't know what there is inside. I normally in my old motorbike always use 95. Anyway the sound improves when the engine is warm. And I have checked also that during the going, the engine loses shots. Who knows, I am unlucky, I have never read about troubles with this model.
Thanks for your answer.
There is 92, 93, 95 & 97 octane available depending on location - it is also possible to still find 91 but very few locations now... remember in PRC there is no one rule or consistency.
Not sure what you mean by "loses shots"..? do you mean backfiring or popping on deceleration or similar?
I'd think it prudent to be concerned with the 'sound' and get either the shop you bought it from to check it, or some other shop/technician (and I use that term 'technician' - tongue in cheek).
If the shop has another Jetmax or Jetlux, ask them to start it so you can all compare the sounds...
Without being there and hearing what it is you try to describe - no way to know if it's normal sound or not...
Make a video of the scoot with the sound and post a link to it or something...?
Ur China is NOT the REAL 1
MUST met GB17930-2013 http://www.anystandards.com/plus/dow...id=42980&cid=3 国IV 90,93,97 or 国V 89,92,95,98 in theory BUT http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...-Shitty-petrol
Hello, the shop hasn't others Jetmax or Jetlux, so I can't try or listen the engine.https://youtu.be/9jf3vbjDJ3w
Here there is a small video about the noise
Hello to everyone.
Could please someone tell me where is exactly located the battery of Jetmax 250?
I am really inexpert, about these kinds of stuffs.
Asking because I'd like to connect a Gps Usb charger.
Thanks in advance to whom will help me
If you read the various Jetmax posts you'd have discovered that the battery is located behind a panel aft of the front wheel. Get down to where you can see the lower front section of the tupperware looking from the front forks or the front axle. Looking back in behind the front wheel.
See a panel there which has 2 lower PK self tapping screws at the bottom of the panel - the battery is in behind the panel.
Many thanks
Hello to everybody.

Yes thanks but no one of those links is active. I have tried to search in the forum but no related topics.
Don't worry I will not bother anymore !
Wayat60.. Nice to see you have a jetmax. I've had one for four years. They are great bikes but the Ningbo CF repair shops are worth avoiding ... If you''re in Ningbo I may have a guy who can do the job.. If he's any good I'm going to get in touch with CF and ensure they train him up as the fixit man for ningbo. The other guys are idiots!
Many thanks Jonsims, I live in Tianjin. I have bought this scooter looking at some people on the forum suggestions, but
1) I am not satisfied about the engine sound (it seems has a kind of bells rinnging, hard to explain)
2) the shop where I have bought it and the CF Moto seller in Tianjin are the same as you have defined in your post... "the other guys are idiots")
3) Nobody has a little of professional and nobody understand what I mean hearing that sound.
So I really regret to have bought this kind of scooter. It is chinese so... quality very very low !!!
No need to get defensive. I've lost count the number of people who join MCM and all they do is ask, ask, ask... and give nothing back to the community. It doesn't just happen here on MCM... but it gets real old, real fast.
Great you tried searching... just a suggestion for the future... might be worth letting others know that in your post - since it saves those of us replying from directing you to resources you might have already visited.
As for info concerning the error codes since I ASSUME that's what you are referring too...
Here's a link to the service manual for the Jetmax. This should help you with the error codes if that is what you're asking about. Start on chapter 5 page 12...
As for wrench monkeys... good luck with finding any...
Jetmax service manual
Thanks for your prompt reply. As you can see, I am sharing my experiences with the Jetmax.
Anyway in my country the purpose of the forum is to ask help to whom, could have had already get it.
Thanks also for the manual. I already have it but nothing there is on chapter 5 page 12, maybe is another version.
My Jetmax has 870 km and I am already tired of it. Also tired of the ignorance of the "technicians" here in China.
So I will sell it, it doesn't matter how much I will lose. thinking I had my first Vespa PX 200 35 years ago.... you can understand me.
Sorry to read of your ongoing issues. Have you tried contacting CFMoto factory directly? It might be worth attempting too. Maybe there is a better dealer with support in BJ than Tianjin? Unfortunately if you try to claim warranty then any CFMoto dealer/shop will tell you that the bike/scooter must go back to the originating dealer - which might not be the actual dealer you bought the bike/scooter from. Warranty for CFMoto products in PRC have to be handled by the original dealer that sold the bike/scooter. However it would be useful to have another dealer listen to the sounds you're hearing and are concerned about. Even a non CFMoto dealership might be worthwhile - just to get another pair of ears to listen.
If you cannot find the error code table you might be looking in the owners manual? The service manual in the link provided definitely has the error code list etc. located chapter 5 page 12. Did you download it and look? There is also a description on how to read the error codes. Even though you can find out what the error code is, may not help you with your problem...

Hi and welcome to China
TIC "This is China"
Your concerns regarding "technicians" problems is not unique just to CFMoto......
As to your sale of the Jetmax i can offer 1000 RMB if you are interested .....
Yes I have contacted the factory, and they told me to go to the TJ dealer. They said the sound is normal and also said to me: "with these money you have spent, what do you want a TMax?" So after that, I am tired. No, no tired but disappointed because there's no care of final consumer. So what should I do? the only thing I can do is to keep my mind about everything related to china products .....
In order to solve the error about the injection flashing, tomorrow I will go to the Tj dealer again ....
To everybody is reading I can just say: Buy Kawasaki, o Suzuki, or Ducati, or Aprilia or Piaggio. at least you will have a good after sale assistance .....
Are we not GOOD friends then ??? lol just leg pulling wish you well i do have 3 CF now so i have 3 times the same shit as you hahahah
Are you sure about that ???Quote:

caveat emptor comes to mind when you buy bikes in China
Problem injection flashing Solved.
The solution I have found on the CF Moto manual on chapter 8-23 page 163.
Was just an error.
bikerdoc Awesome thread, have just rediscovered it. Lots of useful info.
Exchanged my 650NK for a Jetmax. I guess I'll start my own thread on it soon.
^ Sounds like you are on a journey of rediscovery in more ways than one.
Kia Kaha!
Any info you need on the Jetmax just ask, I've got a load of saddle time on mine and have done loads of little mods here and there as you'll rediscover reading this and other related threads. If you ever get over my way, give me a heads up and I'll gladly meet up with you... share some of my favourite riding roads - though you'd need a minimum of a couple of weeks to get a fraction of them in.
