Jape wife wouldnt have it any other way. I have a Hafy but thats after I feel more comfortable on it not to mention it was about 12 -14C out here today, still a bit too chilly for this mug :icon10:

Thanks for sharing your comprehensive postings, Gardo! What a great vicarious thrill to watch someone get a motorcycle!
Ride safe!
That battery cable was too close to the chain without a zip tie. 1.2 L of oil is right for me too. The transmission will loosen up with a few miles on the bike.
Good to have someone else with the Dong Fang bobber for note/idea comparing.
Now if bighabeeb and Aboshi will get it going, we will have a gang to rape and plunder.
Made a quick video of the Bike. no riding today its coming down pretty hard out there. hopefully my MSO shows up tomorrow so i can get it legal. enjoy - Bobber
Nice little video, thanks. You smoke too much.
thanks Jape, and leave it Mate LoL
Dear Gardo,
The bike she looks and sounds great! She's retro and minimalist at the same time. And, though it's hard to tell via video, the noise level sounds lower than you and barnone had led me to believe.
For Scene 2 do you have a helmet mount for your camera?
Good luck with registration, and thanks for posting!
cheers
thanks Mate, dont let my lil digicam Mic fool you the pipe she is loud. No helmet cam yet may have to check ebay for one.
Supposedly the MSO is due in tomorrow I paid for the UPS 2 day so we will see.
Here's to me half arsing a job at the CEO's house tomorrow so I can run home and reg the bike then take it for a legal spin... but dont tell the wife :mwink:
Barnone - I feel like I hijacked your thread sorry mate
Gardo,
I prefer to keep all the dialog on a model of a bike in one place so don't feel that you have hijacked my thread.
I'd change the name of this thread to something like "Dong Fang DF250RTB Bobber Information" if I could ,maybe a moderator has the power?
The Qlink XP/XF200 or whatever name it's called information is spread all over this forum and keeps getting repeated and repeated.
How many questions have been asked about the 125cc performance can?
nice quick vid =)
Once mine gets to the door I'll shoot some video with my GoPro HD.
Just a quick question for you guys so I can put in my order for the sprockets.
What size is the chain thats on there? 520 or 530?
I was thinking of going with a 14 tooth up front and a 37-38 tooth rear, the only issue with a 37 tooth is it would take over 2 mins to get to top speed lol.
Aboshi,
If I was you I would wait until I get my 14 tooth sprocket because I am concerned about whether there is room for it. My sprocket should be here soon. Jets just came in and I'm going to change the mainin a few minutes. Will take a few photos.
Awesome =)
Thanx for the heads up.
As for the 14 tooth not fitting cant you just leave the cover off? Or is the stator wire in the way?

Turn off fuel at the tank and drain the gas out of the float bowl.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0697.jpg
Remove air cleaner and two nuts honding carb on the bike. 10mm open end wrench.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0699.jpg
Remove carb from manifold and three screws holding float bowl on carb. Main jet is the one in the center. Replace main jet.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0701.jpg
Make sure the accelerator pump is under the tab when you put the bowl back on.
There is an adjustment for the pump which I haven't fooled with yet.
Also have not fooled with the neetle height or low speed jet. One thing at a time for me.
Reinstall carb and air cleaner.
Results: The bike pulls better and revs higher. Was stumbling at high RPM before change.
Stock main is a 88. I used a 100 for the first try. Also have a 105 and a 110 maybe to try.
Stock pilot (low speed) is a 40.
Jets from http://www.jetsrus.com/a_jets_by_car...4-36_main.html
Thats great Barnone. Thanks for the lesson. In other Gardo news I got my MSO today and its correct. I say that this is a definite plus 1 for scooterdepot. All things considered I'd buy from them again. Now i just have to wait till sat to get her registered and legit. Boooo
i didnt hear it that way. I actually like the sound of the bike. I'm in a bit of a densely populated area and the pipe being that loud wakes some of these fools up
I have a full face as well the Advanced Hawk Black Flat Full Face Motorcycle Helmet from leatherup.com.
May actually start a thread on what protective gear do you wear
The vendor sent a 15 tooth sprocket and also it's not for a 520 chain so I sent it back.
I'm trying again at a different site.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0703.jpg
Back of stock sprocket stamped YX whatever that means.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0704.jpg
Front of sprocket showing retaining ring.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0705.jpg
Stock 13 tooth sprocket installed. 14 tooth is going to be a tight fit.
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...h/IMG_0707.jpg
Inside of cover. Appears to be about 1/4" space for the 14 tooth. I guess the cover could be left off but I'm not going to do it and in fact I am going to install a chain guard to protect the family jewels.
Look down while you are riding and you will see why. :eekers:
If the 14 is a no go then the reducing the size of back sprocket is next.:rolleyes1:
BTW, Got my Florida title in the mail today so all is good there.
Gotta love when ordering online and they send wrong items...
Thanx for all the pics, it looks like its going to be a really tight fit, unless your willing to hack up the guide.
You will wind up needing a rear sprocket regardless.
Yeah, I think you are right but would prefer to replace the front so I will try again.
thanks for the info Barnone, and congrats on the title.
I'm hoping to get legal on Saturday, today and tomorrow nothing but rain. I'm hoping to get in some riding on Sat and Sunday maybe put on 20 - 30 miles on the back roads.
hows the bike handling now with some mileage on her?
barnone can u hit me up on my cell and tell me the hell u have been through with this company cause im going through it..chuck number deleted thanks
Chuck, I have sent your number to Barnone privately as it is never a good idea to publish phone numbers, meanwhile tell us more as a few people will be trying to buy through these guys and others and if there are continuing problems we all need to hear; just stick to facts however angry you are and don't defame if you can help it!
jape (forum moderator)
i bought the chopper from scooter depot..not only does customer service suck..the freight company from cali sucks..im 6hrs away from where my bike has been sitting since monday..and they dont deliver @your convenience..they gave me the option between 10 and 2 2m..so its going to cost me 2 take off work..can someone give me some good news about any of this??ive read alot on here..shit bein messed up when they get it..and the tools arent there..give me alittle feedback thank u..chuck

don't get the message easily do you? are you on uppers or what? relax and re read the thread
Cheer up mate! You get that crap for all sorts of things not just chinabikes! Humans are bastards and I bet you aren't perfect either. Fuck, they just sacked 21 priests in one of your USA cities for diddling little boys.
Relax and re-read this thread from the beginning with a beer in your hand and you will see that despite some stuff-ups and suspicion, two of the guys got their bikes, and it looks like legal and running well. More have been ordered. Just check it over before you sign for it, have some mates with you if possible if you have any that aren't speed freaks like you, as witnesses and backup - and a camera or two and take pics from before the crate comes off the truck. Make sure it is all there before you let the driver go. If they are going to stuff around with you, you can do it back - but the driver is probably just a dude doing a job. Then do all the commonsense stuff, slowly. Check all the bits and pieces are connected and OK. Info elsewhere here but ask if you are not sure.
Ring them up and hassle for the papers, then enjoy the ride man! its a cheap bike and looks like a good one. If you are all angry and fucked in the head you will put it together wrong and hate the bike from the beginning. That is stupid.
heres my bikeAttachment 3372please help
You are almost amusing, slow down. What do you want us to do, ring them up for you?
You have some advice already if you wnat to listen to it, and Barnine and Gardo are cool and wise, they both managed to sort it all out well for themselves. I hope you can too but the way you are going you will fuck it all up. Take a downer and relax. Its a nice bike. I hope you ride slower than you post.
