735 bucks for one of the cheapest engines you can find on Chinese market - that's not awesome. Those CG clones, as much as I know, cost in China (factories offer them to wholesellers) for less than 200 bucks. I can understand if local dealer, fifth-sixt-seventh in the chain, offer this engine for up to 500 bucks MAX, but IMO, 735 is a robbery.
I agree but in order to get the good price you usually have to order ten or more and run the risk of the engines not being EPA approved. If not EPA then they will be destroyed by US Customs.
I imported a Chinese jeep years ago and it was EPA approved and still cost me over $200 in custom fees to get it out of the port of Miami Florida plus several long drives.

Make sure the engine is EPA approved and add shipping plus custom fees.
i would hate to go from a 67mm piston down to 65 fearing even less power ... but this is why it's a hard find.
but throw enough money at anything it's no longer a problem I guess.
that said I've seen genuine 167fmm (in gray) for under 500$ sold from within the US, I'll try to scare up the link.
zorge is right for 750 its not really solving the problem.
for that I'd invest the time and a few more dollars and see to fit one of these with a similar engine mount pattern

4 valve ohc engines, likely has twice the power
hey zorge what this engine a clone of?
some Honda I think...
it's used by few companies, maybe many but that's irrelevant, main point it's a Japanese clone of the honda nx250. knowing that we can realize there are big bore kits available for it, which is huge and why I pointed this particular engine out.. 25hp stock, who knows what a big bore would give.
but i was hoping zorge would chime in with some hard facts..
fwiw anything without fins is a pretty safe bet to be water cooled
"Honda" indeed. AX-1 and "Dominator" 250 (NX, that is).
I think it is pricey, but comparing to this CG clone for 735... The devil was not so black as he was painted.
Note that RX3's engine is SOHC, while this one is obviously DOHC. In my book, that is enough to say that those are two different engines.
Some time ago, I saw on "Alibaba" that some factory (I don't remember which particularly) offers soft enduro with the a-la "Honda" XRE 300 design, fitted with this NX clone, but with 270 cc or something similiar. Are they got those ccs by using biger bore cylinder or crank with longer stroke, I don't know.
Meh... IMO. extra 20 ccs on current 250 isn't something which will make wonders.
If I could pick it up and the case turned smooth then no problem, the rest can be fixed. but not in the mail with no warranty.
that said that guy has been selling these motor for months..
he finally listed them individually but before he just has a pic of about 10 in a box only listing them as 'probably 200cc'. and for like $250 (plus shipping) each...
but I knew exactly what that black one was and where it was from, and even at that price if I ever needed a entire engine, i decided my money would be better placed elsewhere
