This not a cooking forum, but what is a Boston Shoulder? Sounds good. Your procedure should break in your love just fine. Just listen, don't push and you will have a trusted friend on dark roads coming home in the future.

EXCITED! two birds today. Adjusted valves to Alley's Heist instructions, split the difference on gaps. Found factory settings way too tight. Sounds different but smooth. Replaced oil with Royal Purple 10/40 for motorcycles (wet clutch additive) & adjusted clutch cable, guess what? NEUTRAL upon request!
70+ tommorrow, wonder what I will be doing.
It's the shoulder off the biggest fellow you can take down that lives in Boston.

I would try to always stick to our manual as a final spec number since we don't have a workshop manual. The Heist has a Lifan engine, very close to ours, but some specs are different. I did notice on my bike that even to oil level affects finding neutral (weird). I have also heard that different oil brands make finding neutral easier??. How much adjustment did you have the make to the clutch? Just curious since I'm behind most guys here as far as time/miles.
Yea, its starting to look like motorcycle season!Quote:

I may try the rear sprocket swap this weekend. I have my tools, sprocket, 520STD master link kit. Anything I need to watch out for? Also what number, if any, did you guys torque the axle nuts to?
Foot control bracket at motor adjusted toward rear slightly. Clutch cable adjusted to max pull. First time too much. Backed off a little, now sweet. Syntetic oil helps too, i'm sure.
Adjusted valves at .006 ex, .004 in ( blended formula ). Start up very easy now, no long warm up needed. Very different sound.
with the valves at 6 & 4 do you have alot of rattle when engine warms up. reason I ask is that at that cold mine sounds good, but at running temp it sounds like it has way to much rattle.
Secure bike well. Weight of wheel will surprise you. When it's released the bike's balance will change & if not secure it will end up not were you want. Factory sprocket has a rim not found on the JT version. Note studs use the rim to secure. I was able to figure out how to use new sprocket with original fittings. Once assembled putting wheel back on, you would benefit having a second set of hands. Due to lining up brake pads as you put the bolt back in, is an ackward moment.
Torque unknown. Note adjusting bolts should be set evenly (they alline rear wheel as well as set chain length).
Most important tool for the job is the spring washer tool. Sears sells, get the large one.
My 250 Yamaha calls for 75 ft.lbs,on rear axle and 40 ft.lbs on driven(rear)sprocket. My Triumph is more, but so is the size & weight.
The snap ring, which must be removed, will require the large size pliers. Most people get them at a Harbor Freight store (cheapest price for one time job).
Everyone, I'm taking a vacation til 4-1, most at Sea will be unable to respond, at best lurk.
Ok, after three months, It finally got warm enough to ride my DF. Changed out the packing oil, added gas. Checked the tire presure, had to fill front tire it was flat. It fired right up. Yeah, Put twenty miles on it under 40 mph, that was the hard part. Resisting twisting the throtle. Ha-ha. But it ran like a champ. But at 40 it was winding out. 80 more miles to go under 40 mph. I won't make it.
Last week I took up some drag bars and a rear 38 tooth sproket to be powder coated. Said they would be ready by Monday. Well I didn't get up there until Thursday. When I walked in and ask for them I got a strange look and, oh, they're not ready yet. I'm like I am four days late picking them up and you tell me they are not ready yet? I took the sprocket with me, I am going to run it chrome. What a difference the 38 tooth sprocket makes. I took out two links of the chain with this. I think I am going to love this bike. At 55 mph the motor just purs, speed limit is 55 around here anyway. The next day I went to pick up the drag bars, when I asked them how much. Free of charge. :pirate3:
I never seen so many people take double looks before, it's like what am I seeing? lol. Parked on the street a dude walks by and says cool looking bike, is that a Harley? What year is it? I said no it's a China Moto 2011. He looked at me like I was just giving him some bull. I said no really. He said well it is a cool looking bike anyway. I found out why the front tire was losing air. The inlet valve in the stem was loose. Two minute fix.
I have a lot of questions for you guys. They will come up in following posts.

I installed drag bars off amazon and realigned my seat (bracket welded crooked on frame) I ordered 35t sprocket and was wondering if the inlet to manifold is just plugged when removing mai
Attachment 6635 $24 on amazon 30inches powder coated drag bar
Hey all, new here I was just wondering if anyone here lives in Nebraska and if these are legal I'm very intrested in the DF
55mph, looks like you didn't make it. LOL. Did you run into any issues changing your sprocket? I have mine in hand but haven't got to it yet...
I most of us are hearing the same. I had another biker pull up at red light wanting to know more.Quote:

Bring it on. I still think the all flat black bike is the best looking.Quote:

It does take a while to go through the thread. Like a good book, I went through it too fast. I have re-read it a few times now and had missed some things.
How did you realign your seat?
I used a vacuum cap to plug the nipple on the intake manifold, most of us have made a block off plate for the head.Quote:

I fixed the seat by removing it and bending the two front tabs to the right about a quarter inch and bolted it back on

after adjustment not perfect but close enough
I never noticed until I read it in a post
Ok thanks I'm going to remove air injector now and check on jet size
I removed air injector, relocated ignition switch, tucked in wiring ,fabricated a plate for engineAttachment 6639 will mess with carb later going for a ride
I did not notice any negative effect after removing air injector. I think the ignition switch looks better mounted in the injectors place. The backfire is from to lean setting, check your main jet the consensus is a 100 or 105
