Nice looking bike!!
and sometimes you don't get what you pay for...
I'm often perplexed you got 20k + before any real problems set in.
don't get me wrong I'm very glad for you, but I've had so many unrelated engine problems and just 3k miles that I'm genuinely surprised when I first heard you got that far...
dropped valve, bent rod, and all the damage that goes with at not 1000 miles, burnt valve (admittedly my fault) at 2500, and a blow by seize today.
each and everyone a top end rebuild required.
then there was the failed master cylinder that failed mid ride, and a myrad of other things, the bike has spent as much time out of commission as in.
I've genuinly enjoy working to improving things, it helps justify my basement machine shop, but I'm genuinely tired of it as well, things just gone wrong far too often for my liking...
and it's not like it's my daily driver, I have 5 other vehicles I drive a whole lot more often.
that said I love the piece of shit and looking forward to the day the engine is beyond my repair and have no choice but to investigate an upgrade
yeah I am amazed as well that I got 20k out of the first motor. I did not do anything out of the ordinary either. but still, this replacement motor has me on edge every time I ride.I hate this uneasy feeling about it. I am saving some cash up to hopefully get that balanced shaft motor. I am not sure if the original motor actually had a balanced shaft, but it seems to be a good idea. I am also looking at a shineray for way less. I may just go that route. Still wish there was a way to verify those two DF motors on ebay they are selling as parts. But wont take the chance on them if the seller doesnt want to.
Great weather for riding here in the mountains of Western North Carolina and East Tennessee.
Stopped at the Cheoah Dam on the way to Deal's Gap and the Dragon.

Git 101 MPG today, probably a bit less as the odometer is a little optimistic.
Another new DFer over here.

He ordered his 2016 green DF from
https://www.belmontebikes.com/collec...eet-legal-bike
I suggested he come over here.
that place I purchased my new front shocks from, does not seem to come up anymore. Not sure why.
I noticed that this link as well. http://parts.powersportsbest.com/index.php/ doesnt seem to work either.
wonder what gives. Finally find a place that sells some parts and they disappear.
I'm the new DF'er :goodtime:
Bowtiewagon, arent the parts for Tha Heist and the DF250 nearly identical?
I would'v thought they'd have suppliers you could purchase from somewhere "nearby "
bow,
Wonder how a Honda Rebel engine would fit in a DF?
Here is one for sale.

Im looking into fitting the water cooled version of our motor on the bike! I think it would be a better choice for a replacement and would allow for longer distance riding! Dont let anyone tool u around saying that honda is so much better quality! Ive had chinese motors outlast hondas. Remember about 20 years ago nobody in the U.S. would work on japanese bikes but now they work on them all day! What i have learned about chinese products is that some manufactures use strick quality control and others dont even know what that means! Once the demand is high enough just like the jap bikes then they start getting a little smarter about quality! So far this zongshen motor is right up there with honda quality!
