The bike totally rips with it, you can feel the diff over the stock pipe. It sounds great, more chopper than dirt bike. A bit hard to capture in the vid though.

Dude i have been coveting your Heist for a while. I did an image search some time ago and saw your pics been wondering how you got the kickstart attach and how hard was it to install and setup.
Oh man i love the paint on the tank you are like a minor celeb The pipe sounds awesome better than i thought it would. the whole bike looks great.
I'm hoping to have mine by next week, already got the drag bars new grips and a few other mods in-mind the big one was going to be the kickstart. I cant believe its actually you
Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
Looks awesome, I should be picking mine up this Saturday. Still waiting for them to call and say it is in, will give them a call Thursday afternoon if I have not heard anything. I am also interested in the kick start, you get it though the dealer? Pipe looks better than I thought it would, sounds good also, how loud we talking, rough comparison. Wondering if I will need to baffle since NH is getting tougher on pipes. What size jet you end up going with? I need to get some drag bars, and will be doing some trimming of the rear fender. Will be a slow working project though, there will be certain aspects I may want to shoot for. But better performance and longer lasting engine is one thing that will not be negotiable.
Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
Gardo you funny man! Looks like you had fun down at PIT. Those guys are great!
Kick start was easy-peasy. Bolt it on. The trouble is the exhaust in the way. The stock pipe will need a lever made just for it. Even the drag pipe hits, you can see where I "dimpled" mine for the lever to slide by. By dimpled I mean I put it on and carefully wound it down to see if it would touch. It did but was so close, so I just jumped up and did it. I just didn't care, dent pipe or no kick start. I chose kick start. Even after several hours of sanding and polishing that stainless beauty before hand.
The drag pipe is awesome. Total quality. It is loud, borderline obnoxious loud. The fuzz won't be having it around here. The sound IS perfect, though the neighbors may disagree. I picked up a shorty baffle to try, and will definitely post up a vid. I have the stock pipe back on for now until I get my yearly inspection done.
I haven't rejetted yet, I actually found this place looking for info on jets :) I did send email to Brett at PIT for his thoughts. 105/110 maybe is what I was thinking, but I don't really have a clue what I'm doing so I'll wait and see what PIT recommends.
Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
Kevin,
Glad to have you on the boards and have one of the first Heist riders talking about the bike. I spoke to Al about the rejetting. The carb is a klein 30 with the pump running a 98mm stock jet. the 102 -105 should work out nicely for the bike, what I learned her from these guys.
i was thinking of cutting the stock Pipe, no inspection in NJ, I thought about the shorty pipe but the head and the end of the pipe are the same size So I may just cut the stock pipe and mod it out
Where did you get the kickstart kit from?

Kevin,
I put a eight inch baffle up the straight through muffler on my Dong Fang to mellow it out some. Mine needed a 13/4 by 8 ".

Re: My day at PIT Motors LTD and the CCW Tha Heist
Congrats dude. The funs begins eh?!
The things that made the best difference in the overall bike for me were the bars, seat/springs, and of course that drag pipe.
The keystone bars I got are about the limit of the stock cables, the front brake should be a few inches longer in fact. It snags the steering lock. The steering feels heavy until you get the bike going, but it's no biggie. It just feels right when your arms are up a bit.
The stock seat and springs were a bit rough. Maybe I didn't fatass them enough I'm only 140 lbs. They were just stiff, every bump threw me in the air. Softened up they bottomed out too easy, couldn't get a middle ground. I had the seat in the front most position at first and found moving it back helped the shocks a bit. In the end I got a West Eagle seat with a bit of flip in the back and the actual choppershox with the lightest springs. Feels so good, just perfect.
Everything bolted up with the stock brackets.
