Every law is enforced in random fashion all over China, but the family planning people (Hubei province) gave my wife and I a lecture about baby making when we got married and they told us we were exempt from the OCP. I have also been told by other friends with multiple kids that it was never an issue for them. However, most foreigners chose to have their children adopt the foreigners nationality, so it may be different if you decide to stick your kid with being a Chinese national.
Cheers!

Yeah, our baby has Chinese citizenship so we're only entitled to one child.

Did 150km's today with the missus. We headed out on Huqinping Highway (lovely road for motorcycles btw) towards Zhujiazhou and Dianshan Lake. The bike ran really well, she got very hot but we stopped every hour or so to give her a breather. I've clocked over 800km's now so i'm about ready to take her in for the first service. I'll do another quick review after 1000km's.

By the way, are those leaves all over the ground? I know Shanghai is south of Beijing, but I didn't realize you were in the Southern hemisphere & now entering Fall. :lol8:

Thanks of the pics. We who like photographs do not care of the subjective quality of them since it is interesting to see what can be seen on the photograph. That said, you have very good photographs.

Re: Regal Raptor DD250G-2N
impressions of the DD250G-2N after 1200km's.
The bike has improved noticably since it's first review at 400km's. It no longer splutters, finding neutral is no longer an issue, and the burning smell has gone. It also seems more perky and responsive than it did from new. The engine still gets hot and it still backfires but these issues haven't as yet affected the performance in any way. However, when stopping and starting in traffic the engine gets very hot very quickly, and i reckon when the Shanghai summer arrives overheating could become a real problem. At the moment i'm having to stop every hour or so in fear of the engine bursting into flames. Lol.
My biggest concern before buying this bike was the level of vibration. It seems that Regal Raptor listened to consumer concerns and took measures to eradicate the problem. The bike rides really smooth with minimal shakes, rattles and vibration. It's obviously still only 3 weeks old so time will tell, but i've done some serious riding on it and so far and it's holding up well.
After 3 weeks of riding i can also conclude that the bike is not fast. It has enough squirt around town, and cruises upto 95kmph but if i take it over 100km's then the bike isn't happy. I've had it upto 110 kmph but i was gunning it at 6000rpm and i can't imagine that it could achieve anything more than 120kmph. I'll wait until 1500km's before trying any speed tests.
Went on a short ride around my neighbourhood with Wrangler and a friend. Took a few pics from my favourite little chilling spot...

Re: Regal Raptor DD250G-2N
You may want to invest in some high quality 20W50 weight synthetic oil and some good coolant. Bike shouldn't run that hot, is the fan coming on when you stop in traffic?
Great pics and ride reports
Cheers!

Re: Regal Raptor DD250G-2N
Thanks ChinaV. I'll get some of that 20W50 oil, i'm nearlly due an oil change. Fan only seems to come on when i turn the engine off.
Quick update. The bike is leaking cooling fluid again. The mechanic bodged it up last time with loctitie but now it's leaking from a different place. Possibly this is why the engine was getting so hot. Took it back to the mechanic, 1 hour and half a tube of loctite later, the leak was fixed. Hopefully for good this time.
I covered 180km's today. Set out on a trip to Fengxian beach and got completely lost on the way home. I found more amazing highways, and nice scenery. Fengxian beach is man made and really really tacky but the trip there was a blast. Pushed the bike to 125kmph at just under 7000rpm so i'm thinking maybe it'll do 130kmph. I don't know how accurate the speedo is though. Also had a little race with a YBR 250, he left me on the long straights but the Raptor held it's own, i wasn't blown away.
Anyway, a few more photo's...
