Beautiful pictures!!! Thanks for posting these up. I've been getting anxiety pangs over no possible biking in China but now really looking forward to exploring Guangdong!!! :) Why don't you do any more enduro? I'd love some more info on trails in the area, and also the general price of dirt bikes over there...
We all left China. Most of us were there for 15+ years, things changed and none of us wanted to stay. We rode Chinese bikes, they're inexpensive (under USD$2000) but require an enormous amount of maintenance. You can buy imported bikes, but the price is high and it's difficult to get parts without regular trips to Hong Kong.

Great stuff - thanks for the info and trails! You've got me some excellent exploration material!! much appreciated.
Yes, the pink squigglies are the GPS tracks I made when we went riding. Look at all the dead ends... it takes a lot of wrong turns to find the good trails. They do a lot of logging in Guangdong so every year there are completely new trails to explore.
There won't be any new ones from me as I left China. I'm now making squigglies in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
do any of you guys still live in guangdong and still ride?
Hey man. Tom lives in Zengcheng now, and - yes - there are a few guys who are riding that area still. Not sure what you're looking for, bikewise, but I think there should be some bikes available. Not sure about your experience and fitness level, but you should be pretty fit and fun if you want to "fit in" (halfwit pun alert). Also everyone is on different schedules as well, and living in China - getting older. Years go by in China like dog years. Time sure flies, and I can fully feel your wish to fly here as well after reading this brilliant thread... I think the time may be closing on the enduro stuff without ChinaV's and others' spirits in it like it was a few years ago, from what I can gather. But it definitely has one more season left!
