CCW tha Heist

Thanks Gardo will do. No bike yet but very close. Will be talking with Brett this week about pricing and prep plus sourcing longer cables for some taller bars and a few other goodies. I think the traditional style seat springs would do nicely. The seat shocks look cool but I don't think they function all that well.

Its funny, I forgot to mention all the test ride bikes' rear tires had huge flat spots from Brett doing burnouts all the time lol! Crap I was spending so much time looking at the Heist that I didn't even look over the Misfit they had there.

The Heist that I sat on had absolutely no travel in the seat springs and would be a very rough ride compared to the DF. No wonder Gardo wears a kidney belt.
Sounds like Pit is under cutting their dealers like they did with Gardo's purchase. I wonder if the Heist dealers are any protection from Pit?

Lol, You learn quick which bumps to stand up for! It's a hardtail, it's not gonna be all cush-cush. Seats are such a personal thing.

I'd suggest putting the seat on the middle mount and loosen the shocks up. If you bottom out tighten them up a turn at a time. If you pop out of the seat alot you went too far. If you can run the seat all the way back, it will smooth the shocks out even more.

I also tried traditional 3" springs. There are already holes in the frame for them. Not much difference, They did have more side-to-side flex, and zero adjustability. Looked better than the shocks tho!

If you go this route DON'T bolt the spring directly to the frame. Use some kind of a perch. I used a weld on spring perch that I drilled and tapped for a bolt from the bottom side. There are bolt on perches available as well: http://www.fabkevin.com/Seat%20Sprin...g%20Bungs2.htm

In the end I got a West Eagle Seat and lightest weight choppershox. Huuuuge improvement. My bike is - dare I say - comfortable.

Actually Vince all the sales that come into PIT get funneled to local dealers, just like they did for me. This way it keeps their dealers happy.

Which bolt do you guys pull for an oil change?

I use the one on the bottom left side of the motor. It's a big chrome bolt, comes out with a spring and screen filter behind it. About 2 qts of fluid will drain from here. The manual says it needs 900ml (almost 1 qt.)

It looks like there's another drain plug underneath the motor. Seen from the right side, it looks more like these magnetic plugs you guys are using. If that's the one you're using how much fluid are you draining out?

I used the smaller bolt to drain the oil and popped the dip stick to get a faster flow

Actually you need to pull both places. The bottom one that Gardo pulled in his video is good for draining the oil but you need to pull the side one to clean the oil filter(wire strainer).

If you got two quarts out of the filter plug then you had way too much oil in your bike. Who put two quarts in it? You are lucky you didn't have some damage to your engine.

I believe the manual specifies 900cc or so for the amount of oil in the 167FMM. Put in one quart and then check it. Seems I had to add a little more to like 1200cc. My DF has a dip stick and a sight gauge and I assume the Heist has the same thing since they have the same motor.

you are correct sir. now there is a DF vid by scooter depot that says the engine is a Zongshen 250cc v the Lifan 250cc. Outside the kickstart post on the Lifan I couldn't find any differences.
There is a site glass and dipstick. I was told 1qt 1oz for the motor. I accidentally added just a touch too much when I refilled
