Got the X5 Jing A plated today. All paperwork OK and legal even it is a carburetor version.
The dealer told me today that Shineray will send new clutch parts to replace them in my bike.
seems they found the problem.
Now lets see what Taobao has to add some stuff.
Today i changed the oil after the first 250km. It had quite a lot of debris in it and dark brown color.
From TaoBao I got oil filters for the X2 at 25RMB/pcs. It was the right assumption that the X2 filters matches the X5, see page3, post #22. (Thanks once more to Milton, who came up with that hint)
After checking with professionals I decided to use the 20W50 oil that I still had from my Harley. Under current weather condition it is a good choice regarding viscosity. Let's see how that affect the clutch problem.
I still have to ask Shineray what they found out regarding that problem. As I mentioned they will send new parts. So I think they should know what was wrong.
Here still a photo of the removed oil filter:

From TaoBao I ordered new turn signals as the original ones are not reliable to see in the sun light. That's the choice:

Some Acerbis hand guards I got delivered too but the inner fixation brackets do not match the handlebar pipe profile. I have to file them to shape. Photos will be delivered once its done.
a) After the oil change to 20W50 the clutch problem is a little, little bit better.
Anyway the Shineray guy gave me feedback. He said the materials for the clutch to be delivered to me stay unchanged. But they have a mechanical change. Details he did not mention.
I am very eager to see the effect.
I have the impression that they really care the customer feedback because he sends me an internal punch list where various problems have been listed with measures to be taken for improvement and its actual status.
b) I got my turn signals from TaoBao today. Instead of hanging in the pub I installed them this evening. The front installation had been easy, but for the rear installation I had to rip the whole bike to pieces. Finally it work out. Here is the result.
b1) the new signal surface is bigger (but safety over styling)
b2) the arms are longer
b3) IMHO the visibility is improved
b4) I must check about the visibility in sunlight (was poor from the old ones)

Today I took the time to fix the ACERBIS hand guards.

Good News for the X5! Have been with TB-Racing and another German friend in the BJ mountains. After a 320km curvy ride with gear switching marathon and the 20W50 oil replacement my clutch problem is gone. So now I still have to figure out whether the reason is the oil change only. I will put back a normal motorcycle oil 10W40 at next oil change and then we will see. Anyway in this case it is not a mechanical failure.
Got last days a luggage rack from Moto66 via TaoBao.
Today I have assembled but. Unfortunately it is the typical “good” Chinese stuff.
Better than the standard crap but still far from what I consider “Quality with Fit, Form,Function”.
Especially the shaping is a headache. Without a good tool set (I advise SATA tools) and certain skills it will not fit. I had to bend it at various points to achieved a shape match that allows assembly without big stress in the frame connection and the rear foot peg connector. One hole related to foot peg connection I had even to file wider to get a fit. Also the required bolts and nuts do not come with the rack and I had to measure and organize by myself.
At the end its attached …. But I still have to check the clearance between foot peg connector and swing arm. Not sure whether the swing arm moves that far up, but if…. It looks tight.
Foot peg situation before bending the rack:

bought Saddle bags: brand MENAT, ca. 400RMB, first quality impression = good

FYI, there is an 8 page review/test of the X5 in this month's Motorcycle magazine. Lots of pics, and also the dyno results.
