Just for looks. Had the tire off to change sprocket and figured why not. I kinda like seeing more of the tire. Might have to trim up the fender if I decide to keep it off.
Re: Anyone Know Of Dong Fang DF250RTB Bobber?
Hey Barnone ... thanks for all the info.
I just got mine, and I couldn't find in the manual how much oil she takes.

I made it from 2 aluminum measuring cups I bought from walmart for $2.97 each. Just cut off the handles and you have an fake oil tank.
lanzen,
So now that you have the hole locations figured out, please post some photos before you put it on the DF. I'd like to copy your idea. Walmart wouldn't happen to have black measuring cups?:lol8:

Fook Mi,
Your welcome. You saw where the oil capacity was mentioned in a few posts back? About a quart. Check it with the bike upright with the sight gauge or the dip stick.
But like they say, your bike does not exist without photos.
Note: The owners manual says 1.1 liter of oil with screen clean.

Anyone notice the problem Reporon brought up with headlight dimming when the rpm's go up? Mine does the same thing, it's brighter at idle than when you rev the engine. But also like Reporon said, when you hit the brake light the headlight brightens. Even at idle when the headlight is brightest if you hit the brake light the headlight gets even brighter. Any ideas?

Mine does the same thing. Chinese electrics are about like Britsh electrics. The Brits drink warm beer because they have Lucas refrigerators. Just be glad the light comes on. Roll with it.
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
The light issue kind of sounds like a corroded connector or switch.First thing I do with any bike I buy(new or used) is pull the connectors, clean them with contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease(any auto parts store),and reassemble. When I build my wife's trike,I will use GM weather pack connectors on the wiring.
Hey Barnone.I came over from chinariders after seeing your bobber thread over there.

Welcome to this madhouse.
Funny but the bobber thread on chinarider doesn't get any action but here there is a lot of activity. Go figure.

I have never ridden my DF at night so maybe it acts the same way. I'll try it tonight if I don't forget.:wheelchair:
