Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
F.Y.I. : LED bulbs work OK with the stock flasher. Just make sure the center contact is + positive. Bulbs do not care, LEDs do.
I had to swap the connection on one front signal light, under the gas tank.
I put a 33 tooth sprocket on the bike, but I weigh less than 180 pounds (US). LOL ! Still waiting for My paper work from Sunny Sports. If I didn't have the Triumph,I would be going crazy !!!
Got the paper work today (15th), it was postmarked on the 10th. They said they mailed it on the 5th.
I also had to put a tube in the front tire. At 0 miles it would not hold air overnight.
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
SR.MAILMAN,
Did you see how the wheel/spokes are sealed for the tubeless tire when you had the tire off?

I too, am most curious to the spoke sealant engineering...
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
No, lazy Me took the wheel to Cycle Gear. I think I see O rings at the bottom of the spoke nipples tho.
Also, I have to get an inspection at the main motor vehicle dept.(to register/title). The bike is not on the CT. "list".
I put a 6 led parking light bulb in the headlight. I swear it is brighter than the 35W main bulb...
I went to the CT. Motor Vehicle Department inspection today (24th). They put the VIN. number in their computer and said goodbye to Me.
(You can not argue with them... they have guns).
They would not even look at the bike. Apparently a federal list of some type exists and the bobber is not on it.
I showed them the print-out of accepted motorcycles (EPA ?), they said in their computer or not accepted.
I contacted Sunny Sports and they claimed someone else has registered in CT. They said they would look into it (contact MVD in CT.) and call me back.
I am not holding out much hope of that happening...

I decided to try a new seat so I ordered the above.
Modified the seat support to narrow the holes and drilled two new holes to fit the seat. I wanted to be able to go back to the stock seat if the new one didn't work out.

I might add the overload springs later. Took a short ride and it seemed fine.
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Looks sharp Vince good luck and comfy riding with it
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Thanks Gardo.
Just got back from a forty mile ride and the seat was a success.
Next i want to build a rear rack and a mount for the overload springs but the rear and the front turn signals need to be replaced with some bar end turn signals that I have.
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
That seat looks excellent.Glad it worked out and at a good price too.

ktmracer,
Are you not on a Heist? I believe that the Heist is running the smaller 428 chain where the DF250RTB is using a larger 520 chain.
Anyway, the place where I got my sprockets for the DF250RTB is http://www.oldbikebarn.com/Motorcycl...?search=JTR279.
I'm currently running a 38 tooth rear which seems to work well here in the mountains of Western North Carolin. I ran a 33 tooth rear in flat Florida and it was fine there. Front sprocket is a 13 tooth.
Will you be using the Heist in the Rider' Edge training? That would be neat.
