SSR in the US new models introduced
Anyone recognize the source of any of these bikes? The first three bikes look like competition to Cleveland Cyclewerks's offerings, while the last bike looks like it competes with the Grom and the soon to be in the US Zongshen Rapido.

Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
Longjia, Pioneer and Yingang in that order.

Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
I do not like the “snake eyes” but that is just me…
I would rather see a standard with the GS250 engine and not with a hokey name.

Which is which?
edit: I think I have it?
OK, the first two are Longjia, the bobber is Pioneer, and the mini is Yingang?

The existing Pioneer model you linked to does look like the two Longjia cafe-style bikes, so I understand not offering a cafe with a single, and the bobber from CCW has quite the cult following, so from a business point-of-view, it makes sense for SSR.
Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
I do not like the seat at all, it looks really uncomfortable.

These are better, at least you have some ability to get comfortable on the seat, the tires are actually too fat.

Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
But they already have the two cafe racer-type bikes with the Longjia Buccaneers, which is why I see them bringing this in only as a bobber. They could/should have figured out a better seat, however!
Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
The buccaneer comes in two colors schemes, which hardly makes them two models.
I think the STR250 “Snake Eyes”, looks unfinished, the seat particularly. Last time I felt annoyed by an impractical design was with the bobbers so these may end up being a big seller. But the bobber was an old school design, this is a custom design.
Here is a link to a large image of it, look at the seat area.
Here is link to some Custom designs highlighted on Bikeexif.com, more time should have been spent on the seat. To me the seat is minimal as in lows cost, it makes that statement to me more than anything else, wait for the price tags on these, bet they ask more than what they are worth for them.
I would like to see a straight standard with the GS250 and a CV carburetor and for them to update the colors on the XF250, they are currently ugly.
Who knows if the mad max custom will sell, it may be perceived as bad ass to some, thats not my thing though. To me its contrived and hokey, unless you welded it up yourself and it then is your one of a kind you imagined in your head…that s cool but for retail? Who know let’s see.
Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
Seat can be changed on the Snake Eyes but I am interested in the v-twin model. I got an email back that the bikes were in testing for EPA approval.

The Snake Eyes is made by Pioneer who is affiliated with Qingqi, who make the SSR enduro, and Qingqi is also the source for Cleveland Cycle Werk's lineup. I remember when CCW was using Lifan as their original engine's OEM, but according to the EPA/DOT list, Qingqi is their OEM for their whole bike. Pioneer is technically a different company, but is a subsidiary of Qingqi in some way, so it is probably the technicality as to why Qingqi can supply CCW bikes and SSR's bobber...
Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
They claim 19 HP for the Snake Eyes!
Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
That is some good horsepower! I believe this is the same engine that is Suzuki-ish as found on the Qingqi enduros, so 19 hp might be accurate. I am not a fan of the seat, but I am a fan of the large front tire on that bobber...
Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
I did some googling on the GS250 clone and found another manufacturer that was using it in their bike and claimed over 20 HP.
I wonder if the tank on the Buccaneer is really 4.5 gallons.

Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
I had a hope, a few years back, that the Skyteam Ace would be available in the US. Gave up on that. Looks like it's never going to happen.
As for these, I like both versions of the Buccaneer. As for the Snake Eyes, maybe. I'd like it better with the 250cc v-twin engine.
These bikes look good. But, if the v-twins come in anywhere near the price of the fine Yamaha Star 250, then I'd go with the Yamaha.

Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
I agree that the Vstar 250 is probably a better choice but I like the SRT250B better.
Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
I was getting some news on the new models from their Facebook site but now nothing.
Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
EPA certification takes time--oftentimes, alot of time. I remember reading that SSR was having some trouble financially--cannot recall where, and it was months ago, so don't quote me, but that could also be a reason.
In other news, I am very happy to see the Suzuki Vanvan 200 is offered in the US; not Chinese (heck, could be, LOL), but I am a fan of large tired bikes, more so if they are Suzuki (as opposed to Yamaha).
Edit: SSR got '17 EPA certification for the Benelli TNT 600 https://www3.epa.gov/otaq/crttst.htm

Nope, it's 3.43 gallons. At least, for the fuel injected model imported by SSR. Which I just bought two weeks ago.

Re: SSR in the US new models introduced
I need to stop by this site from time to time. The problem with most posts and threads is that most members are not in the US, so it is difficult discussing bikes that only we have in the US, or they only have in Europe, or what the ex-pats ride in China. Barnone is a member on Chinariders, too, and just bought a Dongfang café style bike and has a thread there. Ironically, all that I mentioned above, the largest thread here is Barnone's thread he started on his Dongfang bobber, with most every post from the US (considering how international this site is). He sold that bike, and then got another one, but sold it last year, and like I mentioned, bought a Dongfang café bike.
