It shows the map but not my track, although it's in the code.
anyone know how to resolve this? would be incredibly handy for ride reports to be able to include interactive maps with tracks!
Seems a bit flaky :confused1:
I don't know if it's Google or vBulletin that won't bring in external track data :confused1:
Lorne, is yours a route, saved to my maps? Mine is a link to a kml on my webspace.
replace x with hQuote:
xttp://www.china-biker.de/Tracks/20110503TRB.kml
Another strange hing is that I got the code only from FF4 and only last session, now only a short url as I get alwyas from Chrome :confused1::confused1:
It's a route that I made in GM and then put the iframe link into the post. I think this is a vBulletin problem because I can post a map on ADV Rider with external kml, so I'm guessing there is some kind of security feature that won't pull the data in from an external source.
ADV Rider let's you put raw html code in your posts without the tags, I think I read somewhere that it presents some kind of security issue, so CC has it turned off.
Cheers!

Yeah, this shit ain't no fun. 5 day trip during the recent holiday, way too much work to re-draw and you only get one single line, so it's difficult to understand each days ride :frump:. After all that, I tried to embed the iframe, and I get this crap.
This is what I wanted to embed.
Cheers!

Ok i'm missing something here. ChinaV how did you do that one in post #3?
Magic!
Create your map, click on "Link" in the right hand corner, click "Customize and preview embedded map", select large, copy and paste the HTML to your post and put thetags around it.HTML Code:[GMAPS][/GMAPS]
Cheers!

It works this time :confused1::confused1::confused1:
I do it always the same way, exactly as ChinaV described it in post #9 but the result is a different one for every try :gun_bandana:
Like this?
Ok that's not working either. i just want a map, not with all the google panels and toolbars.
edit: Ok i don't know what i'm doing wrong. I'm doing as described, but it's not giving me size i want (400 x 600px vertical) and it's still showing all the panels and clutter. Can you guys see that too, or is it something to do with me being logged into me google account or what?
:lol8:
Well no in fact it doesn't work... The route highlighted in this map (when you unzoom it...) is not the one I selected in GM, it's not the correct path... Very strange why that would happen...
The coordinate data is not passing through the Zipwise software either, that’s the software that takes the visitors IP address of their IP host server and assigns it a map coordinate. MAPS OF SITE VISITORS, when you open the link the map displayed has no points.
I think it is something simple, maybe the API license for GOOGLE, either expired or it does not have the correct host address on it. The FREE API licenses offer the paths and points on a map. The information has to pass through the host server and then back, it is displayed on the host server so they have to be compatible. The standard bb widget for GMAPS is based on IFRAMES but does not present any security risk…or a very low one since it requires a link to Google maps to work.
