2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
Hi where would I find parts for my 2008 JIANSHE JS250ATV-8 SPORT?? I've tried a bunch of online sites but I'm not seeing any matches...everything on my quad seems to be heavy duty like the chain is 525...shocksMonster FAST ACE adjustable shocks front n rear...5spd with reverse...I can find parts for the JS250ATV-3 and the JS250ATV-5 (both utility models) from the JIANSHE USA website redirect to a parts supplier PARTS YAHOO/ PARTS ATV (located in Texas according to the website..but don't answer or return phone calls or Emails yet sofar) but not for the SPORT 8 model HELP PLEASE!!!! I'd post pics but when I choose the option nothing happens!!! But if you google the model it'll show you the blue quad!!! I guess it's a Yamaha Raptor clone I've even seen news on the Yamaha-Jianshe collaboration so would there be any Yamaha parts I could buy for replacement parts...and the guy over at ChineseAtvmanuals told me the engine is a Yamaha Timberwolf copy??? (But that engine is shaft driven n mine is chain...don't know if that makes a difference!! ) Any info on what and where will fit would be great thanks!!!!

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
Hi motomiel, thanks for the response! I'll check it out! But I've searched alot of sites and everything looks different, everything on my quad is really heavy duty...for example the chain is a 525...I must say I'm very impressed with the quality of this one!!! Just can't seem to match parts for it...I even went to a Chinese dealer n he couldn't come up with anything looking on his computer for me...I know it's built by Yamaha-Jianshe...it's a raptor copy...even has Yamaha alloy rims n gas charged two way adjustable FAST ACE shocks (if I said that right!!) It's a 5 spd with reverse...
Zorge sorry I didn't post pics earlier but I just figured out a way to do it...the easy way won't work for me!!"

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
You may have to buy Yamaha parts for that, the Raptor 250 started in 2009 in the US.

Is this your engine
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...6-cda2c2092704
yours in chain driven?
these people seem to be in china but have and english site,
http://www.vkfparts.com/ecommerce/ca...1&languageId=2
figure out exactly what you want and see if they can get the parts.

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
Thank you MJH!! I checked the first site in google chrome n downloaded the app n still was having trouble getting in the site...weird!!! But I'll figure it out...I think I saw allibaba if so I'm familiar with that site...the second site was good but the Jianshe parts there don't match mine on certain things like electronic connections...so I wonder about the rest of the parts...they list parts for the UTILITY quads and mine is a SPORT quad...I don't think JIANSHE makes the Sport model any more just the two Utility models 250/400...if I could figure out the crossover parts that would make it easier...it looks most like a ROKETA...I did not get to see the engine picture you posted a link to, it kept sending me to an app download... so I downloaded it n can't find it on my phone... (yes user error!! I'll figure it out just wanted to reply to your message first) Yes it is chain drive...with reverse located at the back axel...I posted a picture of the quad (stock photo first) and some of the engine and drive parts...Thanks for any help Matt

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
Not a problem.
Alibaba is business to business, Taobao is Chinese consumer retail. Finding what you would want on Taoboa is challenging, but if it is sold in china it’s likely to be on there, but finding something specific not so easy.
The picture of the engine is the 250 they advertise on their site, but its shaft drive. What is in yours is based on the XT250 motorcycle engine, the model is a YFM25RDL.
you will be able to find parts, but not likely at Chinese prices.

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
Thanks MJH! I got to the site n was lost!!! Iol!! I'll look up the other motor you told me about thanks!! The motor I have is only an eletric dtart is there a way to add a kick start to the motor from the yfm parts??? Or a pull start system??? Thanks Matt also I'm having a heck of a time finding rear brake pads my rear axle .setup is different than the raptor 250...I'm not sure even about finding a replacement caliper...do you think I can buy engine parts an they'll work in mine like Clutch Plates???

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
It is a shot in the dark ordering raptor parts, they may be the same or not? The website has all the parts diagrams for the raptor, that engine does not a have kick starter, it is based off a motorcycle engine. The site has the Yamaha rear brake pads as 4D3-W0046-50-00 for rear brakes. The site has every part on the raptor if you order any check their refund policy in case they are not the correct parts.
I believe they stopped selling the raptor 250 in 2009 in the US, not sure if it is sold in any other country?

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
I went into the EPA database for 2009, for Jianshe it has these… Model JS250ATV-8, JS250ATV-8A, and QS250ATV-8 engine 229.6.
Here is site that sold yours it has your model, even the engine emblem is the same,
http://quicksandoffroad.com/atvs_scorpion.html
They look out of bussiness.
What is the engine code stamped on it? Its not the same engine as in the Raptor 250.

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
That one's a little different, 4spd n water cooled, the first one you showed me was EXACTLY IT!!!! The starter is on the front side of the engine...what other engine would fit in there??? What engine is it modelled after?? The guy that sells ChineseManuals said he didn't have mine ...but to order his TIMBERWOLF manual because it the same engine...but that engine is shaft drive...
-
Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
it has the engine in the XT225, that is what the engine is.
That I am sure of.
yeah the one from extreme sports is not yours.

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
How would I order a high performance exhaust??? What would I compare it to???
And if I order clutch plates for the 225 they would fit in my Chinese engine?? Thanks for all your help!!!! ....and why is the power rating so different from the Chinese engine (10kw) to the Japanese engine (15kw)????
And this question might sound stupid but shouldn't this quad have enough power to do a "wheelie"??? The wheelie bar has the scrape marks like the previous owner has done them but when I try it doesn't seem to have the power/toque to lift the front end up...I've wheelied everything I've ever ridin but this one!!! That's why I'm wondering if I might need new clutch plates, they don't seem bad (no obvious signs ex:high reving) but it feels like there should be more to the power...the vin tag n website you gave me list it at 10kw which is 13.5hp and it weighs 400lbs that should be enough power right??? Maybe I should change the sprockets??? That is definitely the engine thanks for that!!!!

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
Performance tuning is not about the engine so much as the carb and exhaust, typically a less restrictive exhaust and increased jets help. It’s not a power house @10kw, but I noticed that similar engines in ATV’s typically are rated lower than motorcycles. That engine is similar to the engine in the Zongshen GS250. As for clutch plates it may use the same as the Timberwolf, XT250 or ZS250, however your dilemma is not likely to go away, in that there is no parts book for yours available and no retail source with verifiable parts.
If you really need something specific you are going to have to focus on that one thing and then may have to take a chance, which is why I said you should check return policies.
It looks like the guys at Chinariders also racked their brains on this…
If you ever buy Chinese its best practice to verify parts sources first, seriously too, not at a glance. A simple image search on a model number is good way to start, the more common the better. That being the more sold then odds of part sales is better. Also if it is sold in china then taobao is a source of low cost parts which is best.

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
Thanks MJH!! I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner I didn't get a notification. I've been looking around and I noticed a lot of the parts are the same as the 450 so I just ordered a whole rear brake assembly from calliper to aluminum brake pedal and everything in between for $50 I've basically got every thing fixed up right!!! I now know where to get most every part I need!!! Thanks for all your help guys, I couldn't have done it without you!!! I'm very happy with this quad... I'm just going to replace any broken parts with Yamaha parts!!! I just have to do the carb and exhaust... It has a TK Japanese 30 mm carburetor should I stay with that and get bigger jets or do I need to replace it with a mikuni or keihlin??? And what's a good inexpensive slip on exhaust to use??? Thanks again for all your help Matt

Re: 2008 Jianshe JS250 ATV-8 PARTS????
Update: the clutch plates are the same as YZ85 and a handfull of other Yamaha product, the engine is a YFM250 chain driven, I did a Z1 exhaust mod and removed the air cover n put in a K&N air filter with an outerwear and changed the main jet from a 96 to a 130 and left the pilot at 34 but I have a 40 for it but it's running fine right now. Now on to light/starter switch, key switch and performance CDI!!
Thanks for all the help!! Matt
