Hi I'm new here and wanted to show this bike thats now being sold in Sweden. The cost is around 1300 Euros. I bought one today, and will test the machine tommorow. There isn't much info out on the net for this bike, but I think the quality has improved the last year or so. ( nice forum guys)

Looks like an Apollo, if I am not mistaken...
Its marketed under the name Orion, and in some countries Apollo. But both use the AGB signature for model type ( at least what I'v read) and they use Zongshen's engine. ( water cooled) To date there are about 4 different names for the same machine, it just happens to be which country you live in. Same frame and engine type.
I have a nice sand pit near here with plenty of trails and jumps. I'll run around there after work and shake things out a bit. ( see what comes loose first...lol)
OK I took it easy as the engine isn't broke in yet. It starves at mid range RPM, and I'm not sure of the choke position on the carb, ( a black horisontal lever that you press down or up) but when I run with the lever in the down position it runs fine... but high RPM at idle.... and I think this is full choke....
The carb looks like a 30MM Mikuni ( not sure) but no indication as to choke position on the lever. And no hand book for referance...
I assum most of the Chinese 250s run the same carb, so maybe someone here knows a little on this subject.
On the XTR250 it's up to choke, down to open!
Thanks Felix for the confermation. I screwed around last night and came to that conclution. I ran some hours in the gravel pit, and the only thing I could find that might not hold up is the fuel lines. They are vary hard plastic, and crack easy. As for shocks, waaaay to hard, ( at least the back) its set at mid point adjustment, so I'll drop it a bit. The bike runs good, probably tops out at 65 with the ratio it has. Handling is a bit squirley due to short wheel base, but should dampen down somewhat when I adjust the shocks. All in all it feels good, and time will tell as to durability.

Ran it for 2 hours today over hard ground and sand. The bolts that hold the brake to the front shock backed out a bit with vibration, but otherwise it ran great. Put in the air several times to see the balance, and it will nose over nicely after a jump. The chain should be looked at after a few miles, as it will loosen up some. There is no information as to break in time for the engine, but I figure 2 hundred miles or so should grind things in OK
They import that bike in Finland too, 1295€ here. It certainly looks interesting, good luck with the bike and have fun!

I assume several other models listed here on this site under dirt bikes are from the same manufacture at least the 250cc engines. AGB-30/ orion/ Galaxy
Ok I've come up to 400km with 50% hard off road riding. Front brake bolts backed out leaving the whole assembly dingling in the wind at 60mph... front radiator bolts loose, chain adjustment backed out, and engine idle screw keeps backing out. I suspect this minor stuff for the most part, and a little loctight on the threads seems to fix most of the loose stuff. The ride is still a little hard, so need to find alturnative, as the rear shock is at the lowest position. front end seems ok, but easy to wash out in sand or gravel, feels like you sit to high with body weight to far forward, I believe the mechine would be more forgiving if the rear end was dropped 3 in. at least in sand or loose material. I'll post again at 800km

I also have the same bike but branded as a Hummer 250 (http://www.swebike.se/index.php?cPath=39_467_480). I have found no service manual or information at all on the net and have been looking for the past year. I have my bike for 10 months now and it was 18 months old when i purchased for 6000kr (600 €). It had maybe 30 hours on it when i purchased it.
A few points worthy of note:
1. replace all brake bolts.. they sheer easily.
2. Tighten all bolts every 4-5 hours, including those for the plastic fairings etc... I replaced these bolts as well.
3. The throttle cable is bad.... replace it but go for a good qualoty one.
4. Double check the chain, mine broke after the first few hours, but that was as a result of a bad repair by the previous owner.
5. the side stand bracket is weak weak weak! mine has broken so I have removed it altogether...
6. The throttle doesn't snap back, the spring in the carb is too wak and needs to be replaced.
I have the opposite problem to you with the suspension. My rear is way to soft even after adjustment and the front is rock hard. I have no idea how to adjust the front shocks and I guess they are supposed to be gas filled ???
My engine also revs high at idle (no matter the choke setting), I have adjusted the cárb but there seems to be no middle ground, i.e. it eithr revs too high or stalls at idle.
However, in saying that it is enormous fun, very durable and really quite reliable. I have clocked up about 20+ hours of serious trail and quarry riding and have dropped the bike pretty much every time. I have only damaged the handlebars (will take a trip to Biltema in Sundsvall in a few weeks to get a new one).
The fuelling is a bit crap however, when hot and if I am riding up a very steep incline she will cut out sometimes. It feels like it gets fuel-starved but I am not mechanically minded enough to properly troubleshoot the problem.
My bike really needs a service but I m unsure of where to start as I do not have valve adjustment specs ans don't even know the correct quantity or type of oil to use. Amazingly enough I have not changed the oil since i bought it and it has lost almost nothing!
The engine itself never fails to start but needs ulkl choke for about a minute then half choke until warm. The exhaust is bloody loud!!! It is quite torquey and doesn't like being revved very high, but I find I rarely need to as even in low revs it has enough pulling power to get over most surfaces.

Welcome to MCM. Reading your problems with the bike, have you checked for a vacuum leak at the carb boot? (where the carb rubber mounts to the engine). Also, how long between valve adjustments?

I would reckon the valves have never been calibrated to be honest and now that you mention it, it would seem like the most likely cause. I do not know the clearances despite seeking info on the net. The carb sits neatly and has no fault as far as I can see other than the butterfly valve was a bit stiff when I got the bike. It was actually a build up of crud as the previous owner had the removed the filter (a sponge sock :lol8:) and also drilled holes in the ait filter housing.... presuming in an attempt to increase airflow and thus hp... Which reminds me.... must pick up a proper airfilter for it..
If anyone has the valve clearances for the Zongshen 250cc motor and also the oil quanity for a complete fill and change it would be much appreciated :thumbsup:. I am guesing that 1 liter should do it but will probably put in 750ml and run it hot and then top up if I feel it is needed.
Just back from a spin in a sand and rock quarry up the road from my house.... as basic as the bike is..... it really is a lot of bloody fun and a great way to learn to handle the rouh stuff..... It is my first dirt bike and would like to keep it in good shape :mwink:
Another thing you guys may be able to help me with, on the rear swing arm (chain side), there is a rubber mount that sits on top of the arm. This 'strip' of rubber acts as a guide for the chain on the return back to the drive sprocket so that the chain doesn't rub off the arm....... Erm... what is it called and where can I get a replacement?? I have asked the Swedish dealer for the bike but he hasn't a clue what i am on about...:lol8: Is there a technical name for this item or will 'super-duper-rubber-mounty-thingy-for the chain-rear-swing arm-protector' do...:lol8:

some good advise! Will do a bit more surfing tonight and see what I come up with. I also need to pay my forks some TLC as they are pretty rough. May just try to replace them with a scrapped Japanese model if I come across a set.
Was out again today, am getting bolder in the dirt and sand :) .... Funny as it may sound, but I have been riding road-bikes since my teens and feel that the dirt skills are paying dividends with my road riding. Here in Sweden we have a lot of gravel back roads and also gravel and sand left on the tarmac roads after winter.. My bike control feels better (more confidence I suppose ??).
