Very nice one thanks a lot mate :thumbsup:I listened and watched the video two times,* enough said :naughty:
* Edit: Smiling stupidly
quick update: power gains with new exhaust are incredible
before exhaust i would cruise along at 80 about 1/2 way through fifth with engine revving fairly high
after exhaust i can now cruise comfortably at 80 at about a 1/4 way through fourth with engine barely revving
into fifth and bike just picks up and goes had up to 130kmh but need to check spoke tightness before going any faster
still had about 1/3 throttle still to go. next task on the agenda is to have bike re-jetted and new dash fitted with tachometer so i can
see as well as hear what the bike is doing overall very happy with how it turned out and as i said at the start the power gain is day and night
compared with stock exhaust with also weighs a ton.
That is an amazing gain! Might try something like that myself. I still have a sprocket to change first, once I have fixed the car. Maybe these bikes can really perform given a bit of work, thanks very much for the update. There are a few folk in Aus and GB have the Kinlons hopefully your ideas will help, shame Mr Pfaelzer of Jh600 fame doesn't have a Kinlon ... it would probably fly to Mars if he did. Somewhere on the forum is a carb mod for the Kinlon if you look around.
that sounds mean..I bought a kinlon yesterday and the previous owner took half the baffling out original muffler, but doesnt sound a nice as yours, but it wont get me in trouble:).Not sure on performance as i havnt riden it yet, unlicenced atm.He also replaced the carby with an OKO carby

where did you get the exhaust??
thanks halfcasted,
muffler was a custom job, originally 300mm longer and it looked like :bs: on the bike so i cut it down and made new exhaust down to where it joins onto the front half
now 44mm from the join back to the muffler made huge difference to power and acceleration.
cheers matt
Hey mate, did you remove the video link, I am signed in but can't see it ???
So basically you took the old exhaust, cut it down and ripped the guts out or was there more to it?
After browsing and trying to learn all i can about Kinlon..Turns out I bought "WillsSM" bike from this forum:)great bike, great bloke. he has many threads on his modifications etc..thats how i found out which carby it has;)
Stromnes..good work..wasnt sure if it was a pitbike bolt- on or something.i gotta learn to ride(again) before i learn to ride fast anyhow.lol
hey jape,
sorry been so long for reply had computer issue's lately
no mate just ripped the bottom part out of the new exhaust when i cut it down didn't actually touch the baffler, only the pipe from there to the end
will check on video link and see what's going on with it.
changed the main jet on weekend as well to a 125main and adjusted the needle to fourth groove from top, much nicer and smoother ride and a hell of a lot zippier as well now.
and was really bored last week with the shitty weather that i decided to build a bash plate as well

this is my baby so far picture taken yesterday morning
next project for baby will be bark busters and a set of wheels from a cbr250r? i think.
mite need a bit of customizing so will post pics as soon as project starts (cant wait)
cheers mate
matt
Ah good onya Matt, making me feel derelict again! :wheelchair:
I guess one day I will stop talking about it and do it ... scared to touch it in case it stops and the car is a heap of shite at present so I need the backup wheels ... well I am all out of excuses now and will have to put up or shut up. I did go so far as to buy a welding mask so I am running out of excuses. The bashplate looks excellent btw, and that back rack looks better every time I see it. Nice looking machine the Motard when tricked up, the rack balances the look so it sort of looks ready to pounce. The red and green clashes though :lol8:
well thanks to Melbourne's shitty weather, once again i was forced into the garage to tinker a bit more
ended up changing the main jet to a 155. first test lap around the block the bike ran like shit above half throttle
got home and removed the restrictor on top of the air box and the result was..........WOW
cant really say anymore than that as it just sums it all up
response is second to none now it almost reacts before you do and the power gain is just as good
will try to get out during the week with gps and see exactly how fast it goes now.....cant wait
cheers
Well done! It may run a bit leaner in dry air though. You are the man with these Kinlons.
thanks jape,
just love tinkering with them mate 'cause they so easy to work on and with a few simple mods the difference in power can be very noticeable
cheers mate
n.b. also changed the fork oil to a 15w and feels a lot better in front end now
Looks good mate, great job. Makes me miss my little red rocket stuck under the house at Mum's. Will have to have a play with it in the new year when I get back to Australia.
Hi everyone from Thailand!

Site looks great CC!
Marty.
Gota Thread dig this a Little
But does anyone Or The OP Know what type of Muffler This one is. Just a Generic from a Local? Maybe something you can pick up online?
Hey Stromnes, have you done a sproket change?
Hey Stromnes. nice sounding exhaust, what kinda muffler is that?
THATS SICK MATE! good to see tuning and modding is happening. I'm contemplation buying a road trail version $1799 in a box, $100 shipping. I notice though that the motard is higher at the rear and has upside down forks + tyres and plastics. Are these the only diffs? I suppose i could just raise the r/t and live with the normal forks .
Matey, great to see your thread.. I have a KBR200RT and it's kind of a love/hate thing, while I can't deny the reliability and economy of it, there's plenty of room for improvement performance-wise.. your thread's given me a bit of inspiration to go down the modification path rather than ditch it for something else. I've grown attached to the little Klingon, so now if any of my mates give me a hard time about it, I'll just show them your bike. Cheers!
