Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston kit
Is "Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston kit and gasket" kit available in China from say taobao.
I can't seem to get answers from http://www.chinese-parts-canada.com/...bore_kits.html
Re: Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston
I think it is already a bored out CG125, the CG125 does not have a cam chain or cam bearing to wear out so and the internal part of Honda engine are in families so they share, the engine is a CG125 with what a piston from a CB550? CB750? I never bothered to get that into it. But because it is a OHV they pushed it way up in displacement the other engines like the 163FML is the same as the CMX200 not bored out. The OHC share more with the CB side of the Honda engine family like the CRF230 or FTR223. Not clones but closer to the original designs.
It may already have a CB550 cylinder in it? Because the CG125 is such a work horse it can be bored out, and many do it including the Chinese manufacturers.

MJH,
I'm asking for a 70mm kit( cylinder and piston) for my 67mm bore 167FMM from a Chinese source. I know this engine is based on a Honda CG125. The Canadian source doesn't seem to be available as all I get from them is an automated reply thanking me for my email.
How can I make this any clearer for you??????

MJH,
Thanks but that is the same company that just sends me automated responses.
Re: Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston
It’s not really a CG125 it some sort of Chinese manifestation, the CG stroke is 50mm. It’s obvious looking at the engine it does not have much mass to it, boring it out would likely make the cylinder walls too thin. Likely overheat and loose compression. So why not attempt to change the induction first then leave that 70mm cylinder for a fix if it also overheats and burns up the rings. Which it will likely do anyway.

I like that site...to bad they are not responsive.
Re: Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston
MJH,
Just curious but do you actually have a motorcycle?
Re: Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston
Curious about this mod myself Barnone or any other possible performance upgrades. Is this the same motor that is in your DF Bobber and the Heist correct? Admittedly I don't know crap about these Chinese motors, just trying to figure out what can be done with this 250.
Trying to find any good info on these motors is like finding a needle in a haystack, the same names keep popping up on different forums. I could tell you everything about an HD motor but trying to find good info and reliable sources on these motors is so vague.
Re: Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston
JK3,
It is the same engine as in the DF and Heist and is actually 229cc and not 250cc engine like CCW and others claim in their advertisements.
Probably not worth the expense or trouble going to a 70mm bore to get it out to about 250cc. I'm looking for a 400 to 600cc air cooled single that will fit in the frame.
Re: Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston
Yeah thats what I thought Barnone, I keep looking for anything on that 400 you posted in Gardos thread but didn't really find anything of use.
That being said what could be done to this motor to pep it up a little other than a freeflowing exhaust and a rejet. Can there be any gains with a better intake/air filter? Has anyone done any work to the head, cam, ignition in one of these?
I really don't understand all the EPA restrictions with motorcycles. In the US it is not a primary source of transportation plus the fact that it's a tiny single cyliner. Compared to our cars and trucks how much polution can that little sucker spew out? It's funny cause here in NJ you don't have to get your bike inspected anymore. Anything goes, loud pipes, no checking your exhaust gasses if it's within "spec", probably could just run with just a horn and headlight, no signals.
Forgive my ignorance with regards to these motors, this is all new to me, China bikes that is.
Re: Change your CG250 67mm air cooled engine (167FMM)to 70mm bore,Kit include piston
JK3,
That engine is actually a clone of a Honda engine so nothing unique about it being a China motor. I don't have any EPA restriction on my DF now.
I upped the main jet to a 100 over my DF's stock 88 but according to Gardo you already have a 98 but it might be worth a check to verify that. I put a washer under the needle to richen up the mid range.
But we still have a push rod 229cc engine and there is not a lot of power to be had there.
I tried chasing this one down but no luck.

Did you ever find a bigger engine that fits in this?
