My New Tmecc200 SuperMoto (Pics!)
So I decided to pull the trigger on a new Chinese Supermoto. Its called the Tmec200. It has the proven Zongshen engine, and the overall build quality is honestly better than I was expecting. I had it shipped to my workplace, built it up yesterday and rode it around our industrial area for an hour while breaking in the engine. Did the 20mile oil change, and so far just loving this thing. Unbelievable how much bike you get for the money.
Many people dont seem to get these bikes, but that is okay. The best way I can explain then is that they are not Performance machines, the are just plain fun! Yes, Im sure there may be some issues, but I have enough mechanical background that Im not worried about fixing something here or there. So for now, Ill just use it as my commuter / toying around vehicle. The one thing I do need however is a smaller rear sprocket, this thing is gear'd for pullin eliphants out of cement or something lol. Anyways here are some pics! I plan on doing a full video review soon, after its been properly broken in.

Oh man, took out the Baffle on the exhaust and this thing sounds amazing! Before it sounded like a damn 50cc moped lol, but now it sounds like a performance thumper! So mean. Heres a pic of the removed baffle.

Ill try to get a video up soon!
Re: My New Tmecc200 SuperMoto (Pics!)
Mike, does it say on the box where "Tmec Power" is?
Re: My New Tmecc200 SuperMoto (Pics!)
Well I know that Tmec is a Chinese brand, but the USA wholesaler is in Alabama.
Re: My New Tmecc200 SuperMoto (Pics!)
Dear Tmec200,
TMEC is the wholesaler and is the US brand, not the Chinese brand. This is almost certainly a rebadged and possibly modified Zongshen. If you don't mind, is it possible to take a picture of the registration plate on the frame up near the head tube? That will show the VIN number, and a manufacturer and place of manufacture. It'll probably list TMEC, but it very well could list Zongshen. The VIN will also lead us to truth about the origins of the bike, as our boys TD_ref or MJH can put the number through the EPA database check.
I'm very curious whether the Zongshen variant of the bike is actually being sold in China, and whether it can be registered here. There are quite a few would-be riders here looking for a bike in that class, and there's a lot of confusion because of new stricter emissions controls (China3) implemented at the end of 2010.
As I said, it's a bloody handsome piece of iron!
cheers
Re: My New Tmecc200 SuperMoto (Pics!)
Ahhhhh right, Its 100% rebranded bike, Im 99% sure its a Zongshen engine, thats even what the whole saler was telling me. Ill take a pic of the headbadge today. The bike can be plated, they are currently being sold at multiple dealers in Washington. Nearest to me is in Seattle Area See Link:

Thats a place called scooters for commuters. My paperwork to get it plated etc will be here Friday. So far Ive been very pleased with the overall finish and quality of the bike. And now with the baffle out it sounds as good as it looks. I'll try to get a quick video up today.

Nice bike and good skills on road tyres there !!
Re: My new Tmec, VIDEO NOW UP!~
Dear Mike,
Wow, that video made my day! Awesome shooting and brilliant edit, and you've even synced the video to the music. Sheesh. Something tells me you do this video stuff for a living. If not, you probably should.
Can you give some hints about what editing platform you use?
As for the bike, well, it looks like you and the TMEC were born for each other. She sounds excellent.
thanks again! cheers!
Re: My New Tmecc200 SuperMoto (Pics!)
Thanks EUPHONIUS!
Yeah I dont do this for a living at all, just hobby. I have a little bit of a nac for editing vids. This was just self filmed during my hour lunch break. As for the bike, I honestly cant believe this bike, feels nice and sturdy, reliable, and just damn fun to ride. Id recommend this bike 100%, or at least from my experiences so far ;)
Oh yeah, more videos to come. I should have the papers to get it plated by Fri, then Ill get some around town riding as well.

Re: My new Tmec, VIDEO NOW UP!~
Any chance of a walk through on how to remove the baffle? My bike is the 125 version and sounds like an asthmatic doing the 100m. :( Amazing looking bike also :)
Re: My new Tmec, VIDEO NOW UP!~

Re: My new Tmec, VIDEO NOW UP!~
I have found a distributor for the TMEC200 bikes and will soon be taking the plunge on one (I told you, Carl, that I would get another bike in the next 10 years or so...). I might actually ride it home the 200 miles or so if I can convince the distributor to break it in properly for me, while filming video and snapping photos for a thread. Will keep everyone posted on mychinamoto.....
