Qingqi tech questions submisssion....

We have more than a couple questions now about technical details of QingQi's 200cc motard. I'd like to ask the factory to provide some of this information but it's better and easier to do it all at once rather than one-at-a-time.

I want to stress that nothing is guaranteed but we will give it our best shot.

Please post any TECHNICAL ONLY questions that you'd like to ask QINGQI here and we'll see if we can get some answers.

So far we have:

- Correct valve spacing
- Amount of fork oil in the USD forks....

Anything else?

Thanks for you efforts Carl. There's a few more I'd like to ask:

- How can we get hold of a workshop manual.

- Can we buy the rear luggage carrier as fitted to the dual-sport version?. It should fit the Super motard and I'm sure they would sell like hot cakes to virtually every buyer of one of these bikes. Its part number is given as:

Carrier comp. rear 46310QMNZ000
Bolts, M8x16 02304O080162

- The rear shock absorber has a Schrader-type valve on it. This is for filling with air to adjust the pre-load. It comes empty from the factory.What pressures are recommended?.

- The owners manual has no requirement to check/adjust the valve clearances. What intervals and clearances do they recommend?.

Good questions...I'll take note.

Regarding the luggage carrier (rack) those should be spec'd and equipped by the importer. I'm sure it fits but, as usual, shipping and distribution is the problem.

Valve clearances are not specified in my documentation but it says they should be checked at 1,000, 4,000 and 8,000kms.

I will put up the full GY series manual I have received from the factory in the QingQi section as soon as I can put it into a protected PDF.

That would be great. Not even the Spanish importer has one.

I have workshop manuals and parts lists for several Zongshens, if anyone needs them I can upload them to a corner of my works website.

Keep in mind it doesn't have much in the way of detailed info since it's for ALL GY series bikes (incl. 200's, 125's, etc...), but it's worth looking at.

Thanks Carl. That will help. It's a lot better than the poor translation we get in Spain.
I'll keep on searching for a full workshop manual, though, and let you know when and if I find it.

- QingQi has just finished their 125GY work-shop manual in Chinese and has not yet been translated. The 200cc version (which should be relatively similar) is up next but a completion date is not known.

Regarding the air pressure in the rear shock...

• From the factory they are loaded with pressure which is .6Mpa.
• Standard pressure is .6Mpa+/- 10%.

No information on the max pressure allowable as that will probably vary by riding style and weight so play around with it, but at least now you have a base-line to start from!

Went to a conversion site to find out what that is in psi and it's 87 PSI

Have to remind people that a normal pump is no good as the action of locating the nozzle and disconnecting it from the Schrader valve lets all the air out. The shock works on high pressure, but the quantity of air is very small, so for accuracy you can't afford to lose any.
Bicycle shops that deal in good mountain bikes have these pumps, costing about 20 euros. Mountain bike suspensions use air filled shocks.

They look like this, and the connector is of a special type to avoid losing any air when disconnecting the nozzle:

Today I come to bother you with a question; which I haven't answer yet.

The inverted forks of my QingQi QM250-2D (Named Beta Chrono 2.5 in Argentina) started to dive when braking hard and have a little stiction too, it's time to change the fork oil, but anyone knows the right amount of fork fluid I have to pour on... I emailed Betamotor Argentina, QingQi China and QingQi Colombia, but no one answered my question.

I started a thread here in order to solve the problem but maybe Crazycarl and his approach to the factory is the person who can give me the proper answer... I know my bike QM250-2D forks aren't equal to the Qingqi motard version QM250GY-B, and do not take the same amount of fork oil (330ml in the motard version)
