Hey, anyone interested in going for a ride this saturday? Small bikes prefered:wheelchair:
Just replied your PM. Still waiting for my bike to be ready. Rear brake is fixed, now they try to figure out how to mount the hand guards. Hope to pick it up tomorrow and then I would be ready on Sat. Early start? Where to? I found some interesting looking roads on baidu map just west of G111...
Anywhere, I didnt ride for too long. Same guards as mine? Looking forward to see the result. LaoJiahou said it might not be a good idea to change the handlebar becase the things inside might reduce vibrations or sth. You left it in 2sheels clan? did u figure out how to fix the starter? My rear break light is on all the time:/ They gave me warranty for 3k km and everything went wrong just after 3k.
I'm not sure yet guys, I might have to many alcoholic activities this weekend!
No, 2 wheels clan was of no help at all. Checked-it in at the official dealer at Goldenport Motorcourse. At least they were able to get the brake thing fixed. I understand the vibration thing but I want to see these handguards mounted. If vibration is really bad, then I at least have the original handlebar in my hands and can start running around to find some good shop for drilling this whole. Canät be that difficult. Maybe I take it back to Germany over the holidays and drill it in the workshop of my dad...
how about the starter? what is this goldenport motorcourse?where is it?
Starter is working most of the times. I guess no mechanic is really looking forward to unwiring every little detail to find the reason for a problem that only happens when I am not around a mechanic...
The motrocourse is some kilometers south of the airport. You should be able to find it on GM. It was a reccommendation of LJH. But let's wait and see how they actually perform...
How about your lighter/charger solution? Does it work?
Yeah its perfect, and doesnt need switch. Do they speak english there? how many km on your Jialing?
woohoo C-moto senior ;)
if there would be just two of us we could try some more extreme offroad:taz:
weather forecast changes by the hour. I might opt for a ride on sturday at the moment: http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/90
I'm in if weather looks OK. But no extreme offroad for me, I'm afraid.
Cool! No more rain for saturday! QQ even shows some sun
Love to join you guys - but I have a prior commitment for Saturday. Have fun!
Hey guys, anyone up for a ride tomorrow?
hey, I might go, but I was thinking about some offroad maybe?
Would love to go, but unfortunately this weekend not possible for me.

sometimes i feel i don't use my bike in the right way.
Crazy cold! does anyone have gloves that keep your hands warm for more than 10min? Lobotomus, you re still going to work on bike? I tried 2 times this week just to keep it running and its ice cold.
I would still be going to work by bike this and next week if it weren't for the stitches in my hand (due to cleaning dishes!), so I can't really comment on it. It only takes like 10 minutes to my office anyway, so I will probably get there before my hands get frozen.
hey Barry, could you post some directions to that Jialing shop? I need to go there this weekend.
10min is painful enough
cheers
Try this, it's in baidu maps though! Google is total crap lately!
The route displayed is from 798 to Jialing!http://j.map.baidu.com/X3zrc
ah, I forgot its so easy. thanks. How seriously can you cut yourself by washing the dishes?
I didn't know you were such a wimp! What are you going to do when it starts to get COLD??
I am keeping fairly toasty right now: XXL Frank Thomas cordura jacket which allows for lots of layers, long johns, balaclava, 2 neck warmers, hiking socks, hiking boots. The hands are the main problem, though. Went to the Russian market yesterday to see if they had anything in fur or sheepskin - still looking. I miss the heated grips I had in UK! Might look into putting some on my bike, but given the quality of the other accessories, I am not optimistic.
Bike is going fine in the cold. The hardest thing is contemplating doing any work on it with freezing hands!
Did you get the same jacket as me? It sure is nice and warm, and needs to be taken off soon after you get of the bike!
I think my bike is doing better than in summer;) I'm going to buy this ugly chinese handprotectors in 10rmb shop for my long trip to Jialing shop. I dont think it will be much colder. Last year it was about this tempreature + plus wind sometimes that makes it feel like -40.
BTW, it was on the trip that i bought that blue ribon bear and you said it has some opinion in US? I just saw a preview of south park episode White trash in trouble, i think i know what u mean ;)
No - I brought my jacket from UK. Never thought I would wear it again, but very glad of it now.
Let me know if those crappy hand protectors keep out the wind.
I saw some dodgy-looking DIY heated grip accessories on TaoBao for 15RMB:

as your bike is a bit of a TaoBao express, you should try them out!
I look forward to having a Pabst Blue Ribbon with you sometime!
Yes - I might give it a go. Says they are 10W.
I will report back if I manage to sort anything out.
Lame offroad trip on sunday Fahni? I'll ask that chinese guy to join he said he will show me some tracks. Lets test the gear. I'm affraid my boots are too small hehe
