G'Day,
Thanks! Putting a 175cc 4-valve engine together for a Supermoto Z50 Monkey bike and a few upgrades are planned for the Duc MTS in 2012......

Re: TBR Z50JZ Custom Bikes
TBR, one thing: is there some specific reason for installing oil cooler so low?
Re: TBR Z50JZ Custom Bikes
They say the devils in the details TB and it looks like every piece of that bike is both custom and shiny...beautiful.
Cheers!

The little hi-po bike is a work in progress and your correct, every part has been modified and changed - improved from the original design. The Z50 "Monkey Bike" is a blast to ride (25+RWHP) and quite funny scaring the bigger bikes like HD's at stop light take off.....
ps: building another Z50 custom bike (8" wheels) and will continue the build during the winter with our son....

No specific reason for the low oil cooler mounting, the Takegawa heads have a mounting bracket for low engine mounting. The oil cooler can be mounted in different positions (top of engine, underneath the headlight on the forks, etc.) but personally I prefer the mounting as pictured.
Re: TBR Z50JZ Custom Bikes
I did not have much choice. I had to install it sideways.

Re: TBR Z50JZ Custom Bikes
Say, TB, would it be sacrilege for you, if one of your bike had some, for example, Kitaco, Daytona, MSR parts? :lol8:

Since you ask, see post #1 / #5 in this thread, the bike has currently KITACO 30mm Front Fork Set Type X - Silver-Gold (fully adjustable) and a DAYTONA low seat installed but some parts might get changed again down the road, the never-ending Z50 "Monkey" bikes story that goes around my family for quite a few decades already... grew up with Honda Z's and learned motorbike riding on them and really wish I still had the two Honda CZ100 my parents owned in the 60's....
Re: TBR Z50JZ Custom Bikes
Yes, I've seen that before, but by refreshing topic you reminded of my first impression. I thought: "This guy opened Takegawa catalog and ordered all the parts from pages 26 to 63." :lol8:
A few years ago, I also fell in love with this horizontal engines, regardless of the form-factor of a bike that uses them.
