Shanghai Motorcycle Market: Hutai Lu Motomart
As many of you know, the Jiaoji Lu Motomart (交暨路) has mostly disappeared, with the exception of a few random parts/product shops and service guys. Most all of the shops have closed down and reopened on Hutai Lu.

* Note: The fabricator, dubbed by euphonius as the Shanghai Muffler Man,who's handy with metal mods (including exhaust, racks, etc.) can still be found on Jiaoji Lu.

I was there to get the following:
* New storage cover for my JH600 (rmb 25)
* Aldo Top Box so I don't lose any more gear in the twisites (rmb 130) [I hesitated buying one for 2 years as I didn't want to look like a mototaxi when riding around Shanghai. But I'm not all unhappy with the results. When riding home from the office, I usually get at least 2 requests now from the office girls who can't find taxis during rush hour. Do I dare? haha]
* Used disk lock (rmb 35) - which was definitely the bargain of the day.

spot on, everything on offer can be bought via Taobao, fake Arai "Dridi Performance" helmets for sale are good for a hard laugh....
new moto-mart is cleaner compared to the old one.

Nice, thanks for that update.... I need a seat "customized" for my wife, wasn't sure were to look but the lady that used to do all of my seat and upolstery work is probably there....

Sorry, I don't know anyone at the Shanghai market for this job, but if you find yourself in Turpan (吐鲁番），Xinjiang I can introduce to you some sweet ladies who can saddle up your horses.

1) #4333 HuTai Lu - Called Shagnhai Gmall (this is the one mentioned in above post)
2) #1681 Gu Lang Lu (near ZhenNan Lu) -- this one is actually supposed to be bigger & better overall compared to the Gmall...
and yes, that seat is truly "PIMP".

I needed some special Custom work done on a seat for a Bike I was building a few years ago. Ended up going to one of those Shoe Maker shops round the corner from Big Bamboo - they were able to give me all kinds of nice leather options (just about anything you could ask for) and did a great job on the padding and stitch work. There are 2-3 of these little custom shoe-makers right across XiKang Lut from Big Bamboo (on that little road behind Plaza 66).
Anyway, they aren't cheap, but they did great work. Ended up using the seat on a fancy bike I gave to my father for his birthday....

just got back from Hutai road as a couple of our club guys need to buy off-road gear for an upcoming Laos 10 day adventure off-road trip.
in my opinion, Taobao has still a better selection if your into the cheap "fake" sort of gear and parts (i am not into that cheap sh@t).
now, if you have trouble finding a super large size helmet, look no further, head over to the Hutai Road bike parts market.....
