Kennon
No tin body, no spare wheeel, no manual gearbox - no thanks.
Although, it looks cute.
Hey thanks for the replies but does anyone know who actually makes these in China? I'd like to visit their factory.
Seems that those guys are not bad at all - http://www.benzhougroup.com/product.html.
Lambretta are back aswell with some metal body planels made in italy but the rest being of taiwanese parts auto aswell, but its more of a modern take on a classic design
http://lambrettamotorcycles.com/ln_125.html they have other models coming soon a LJ and LT as 50cc 2T/4T and 125 variants
i knew i had a picture of the neco from its original manufacturer
Attachment 7627its called the Jialing Vines JL125T-12A
its also available as either 50cc with a kymco engine or 125 fuel injection or 150cc fuel injected such as the Venti 150
Attachment 7628 you can see a picture of whats underneith the plastic body here

In china you can already these converted to electric drivetrain:

felix abit off topic but how viable are electric scoots over in china?
the range and price still puts people off here
Wow these Lambrettas are really beautiful. Are these made in China as well?
Kennon - does Jialing still manufacture these?
ahh yes the lambretta is a nice looking bike i have a even better picture of one
Attachment 7631
as for teh Jialing Vespa replica i would assume so as the Neco is still being sold but it is not showing up Jialing pages i have yet to find the official Jialing website which might have it on the products page
That looks nice.
And the Lambretta as well.
Are these made in China now?
As for Jialing Vespa, I might as well just stop by their factory and ask them personally.
the Lambretta is made by SYM in Taiwan who baught some rights to the name
Ahhh I see. Man do they have a lot of scooters.
SYM sell a few varying scooters they are pretty much all based on Honda designs as they helped sYM get off the ground originally iv still to see a new Lambretta on the roads despite being out for a year already but saying that i live out in the countryside when im not at university so not the most scooter friendly environment perhaps i will see some when i go to london this weekend love seeing all the scooters going about there business in the capital
They're the most common thing on the roads here (except for jerks). Petrol driven bikes are banned in most cities but for some reason electrics go uncontrolled so everybody and their mistress has one. They're dirt cheap and almost all residential complexes have charging banks in the parking lot.
Mine cost less than 500 euros, does 65kph (GPS tested) with a 40km range and is perfect for the city.
Love that new lambretta!
Felix - Off-topic but are you the one behind Xian Sideways?
I'm not the owner of the company, but i'm the guy running it. Any questions? Wanna do a tour?
(sorry for hijacking!)
iv seen these little retro style scooters about around my area i think its like a chinese take on the modern vespa
there called Baotion monza's come in either 50cc or 125
Attachment 7655quite a few colours aswell which makes a change for teh baotian brand as they normally just sell a coot in one colour combination only
Felix - When I eventually get to Xian, I'll look you up. Xian seems so far away.
Kennon - I've never heard of Baotian. Are they reliable? The scooter looks like a panda. Reminds of the Geely Panda car.

MJH - Do you know the official website of Shanghai Jialing?
hi from what iv heard and seen the the higher end priced baotians are allot better quality and people havnt had any problems with them as with anything simple maintenance goes a long way its no vespa but the guy i know who has one has had it for over a year and it still looks brand new and he rides it throughout the year even in the winter road salt months when i dont even ride my bike in the UK Baotian is known as one of the best chinese scooter companies around for dealer service and availability of parts which used to be the major flaw of chinese companies over here
Yikes :confused1:
I notice that the Abruzzi 125i is also fuel injected….NECO seems to have a good website, its all flash player.
Here is the Abruzzi 125i

Being offered on eBay UK.

Makes you think he is trying to unload it?
i was thinking since they sell it as a 50cc aswell a aircooled 2 stroke 50cc like the ones being adopted by chinese manufacturers nowadays would make it hark back more to a vespa replica in away more than that of the 4 stroke engines
also it would be nice if a LML seat could fit the neco as they have some pretty nice seats available
