Messing around in uncle's bike repair shop in Zhongshan & reading from elsewhere.
Factory shop manual http://uploading.com/files/get/7985bmfe/ saves time to diagnose ??? than the so called manual from Hayne's
Re: Big electrical issues ?
Hi thanks for the reply, I am sorry to say I do not understand any of it
:confused1:
Re: Big electrical issues ?
hi all, can anyone tell me the readings in ohms I should be getting from my stator, bike is x-stream dirt classic 2005, 125cc kick start only 156fmi engine type, not electric start. stator has eight poles and also which is the ignition fire pole.
Thanks
Re: Big electrical issues ?
Re: Big electrical issues ?
thanks for that, my cdi has six wires in two connector blocks, two wires gr/ w , blue / white from the pick up green to the coil and black yellow to the coil, I have good ground in here, in the other connector block there are two wires black/ white I take it that is the kill switch, black / red I take is the power in, I have no power in, where does the feed come from, can I bypass this with another feed?
can I cut the kill switch out ?
Re: Big electrical issues ?
Build ur testing kit ie. bypass ALL Stock wiring as that mechanic in Sicked... 07-08-2012 , if it fires up then trace those ??? & fix it.

Re: Big electrical issues ?
Thanks again humanbeing, no wonder you are the man !
Re: Big electrical issues ?
"Test kit" (working CDI / coil / wires / multi-meter) is one of the "savior" for man in a hole type ( the bigger one often had "monkeys..." that knows changing parts here & there ONLY) chinese mechanic in trade to rule out ??? from time consuming f***ker ie. the wiring.
Re: Big electrical issues ?
Can you tell me if I have the right wires in the cdi, if you stood the cdi up on end with the two multi block at the top. the two wire block, the top one is the black / white to the kill switch. Bottom one is AC ignition power. Now the four wire connector top left is the pluse trigger blue / white top right is to the coil and the bottom two are both ground one is green / white from the other side of the pulse trigger. and the other one is solid green which also goes to the coil after a spur joint. checking the ignition pick up coil on my stator I have my multimeter set to 200ohms I have a very thin copper wire coming from the coil and is soldered to a post, next to it there is another post with a black and red wire coming from it and this is my ignition power, taking the reading from across these two my meter says 0.06
Re: Big electrical issues ?
Re: Big electrical issues ?
hi I think I am getting somewhere now I have put my red multimeter probe in the red / black connector of the cdi which is the ignition power from the stator set my meter to 20v and kicked it over a few times the meter read 0.05 is this good enough ? Then put my probe in the black yellow connector which goes to the coil and again kicked it over the meter read nothing is this ok. Finally probed the blue white wire from the pick up and my meter says 0.04 is this ok I am thinking that there is not enough voltage being generated by stator ignition coil, or am I just stupid ?
Re: Big electrical issues ?
Those reading indicates 100% f...s "inside" the cover. You can't tells the REAL ??? w/o tears it apart.
Similar to this is a MUST to do that job. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=4726285648 (GY6/ CG / those "Horizontal" : C90 etc...)
Although flywheel f...s is RARE but demagnetize is heard.

Re: Big electrical issues ?
Humanbeing, speaking of motorcycle electrical system, do you know whether there are in the Chinese market CDI units with adjustable ignition timing?
Re: Big electrical issues ?
One of those developer:
http://store.taobao.com/shop/view_sh...r_id=126846116 (4 curves OR the programmable)
Re: Big electrical issues ?
Thanks.
That's it! Somehow I did not noticed that these CDI units are sold in the West. It's good to know that they exist and how much they cost.
Re: Big electrical issues ?
One of the cause for f...ed stator- Loosen bolt rubs it
