I think the majority of those are sold in South America, how is you Spanish? Or how is your Russian because M1nsk sells them as well.
Sold as a Zanella in Argentina and M1NSK in Russia
I am not sure sounds like a fuel issue if you opening the throttle and it starts to jerk.
Hi, thanks for your reply. I thought it was a fuel issue inicially too. Tried adjusting the carb screw and testing it out but it still started to jerk the same way at high RPM. I am starting to suspect that it might be an ignition problem. The vibration somehow affects the electronics possibly which causes the engine to switch on and off in the upper rev range. Is that possbile?
yes it could be and you can begin with your plug and work from there back and check or have a mechanic check, if you cannot. it could be just connections?
Yeah well she's due for her 4000km service so Ille pass on the info to the mechanic and let him sort it out. It's not serious in the end, the bike rides well despite this small problem. Will check those connections none the less. Also quick question.. I saw that post where you high lighted the 300cc engine made by Loncin which looks very smilar to the 250cc. I'm wondering if it will fit the Jedi frame?
Your bike has modified Suzuki GN250 engine, There is a Loncin GN300version of your engine.
I would bet that it would fit in your frame.
They use the GN300 in ATV's and also in a cruiser, they call a T-REX.
I am not recommending you contact these people, just for reference.

Be careful if you buy one that it is all forward geared.
here is a donor in capetown?

Hehe, this dude is around the corner from me..literally! Might as well go and check it out and see if he will let me take it for a spin. Keen to see how much of a difference an extra 50cc will make. Not often you come across a 300cc, even 400's are pretty rare these days. I'm itching for more power. We have great high ways and plenty space to cruise at 120km plus on, shame to waste it on a smaller bike. Had a 200cc for a year, my 250 Loncin for 3 months now and I have to say it just aint big enough.. However in all fairness she's a neat little runner and gives me pleasure no end. I guess I would like a bigger second bike to put the wife on the back and head off into the distance easily. MJH you have been a great help, appreciate your input. I did check out those 300cc engines. Bye the way, is the loncin 250cc engine enhanced in any way compared to its susuki counter part?
That is so funny that the bike is so close to you.
The GN250 has two exhaust ports, your only has one. They did something there, the 300cc still has the two ports. If you get to test ride the 300ccc let us know what your impressions are.
:rolleyes1: Just got a mail from the guy..sold unfortunately, damn. Will look around some more.
My dealership this end (Motomia) claim 15kw on their web site for my Monza 250cc (same as the Loncin jedi just rebranded). Looking at the Loncin home page the Jedi specs rate it at 13.8kw. According to motormia mine is the updated engine. Was wondering how true it was, not sure the Loncin web site is up to date to be honestAttachment 8521. Thought I would show you how the rebranding looked, this is my picture of the trusty steed. Think the red looks pretty cool, not a fan of the orange coloured Jedi's really.
That’s a nice looking bike, did you get them to check the high rpm stumbling out yet?
The prices are tits, you can get those for $2,145.00 USD!

You people are so lucky it is killing me, they are selling a 200cc Spitzer for $1,700.00 USD.

Oh, stop complaining! You fill your tank for pocket money. :frump:
I am not complaining, only dumfounded as to how they can be selling them at those prices.
Look at the price of a 110cc step through $750.00
I am tickled that they took over a HD dealership….LMAO

I know look at the Keeway offering in the Ukraine....so inexpensive.
If I could get a Keeway RKV 200S in the states for $2,100.00 I would have one.

Prices of the Kawasaki are not cheap though, actually pretty pricey

Honda sells the CBF125 in the Ukraine for $2,300.00

Strike 1 for HD! Motomia is the top selling brand in Cape Town, although there is no real comparison. Motomias marketing has been great and they have changed the perception of chinese motorcycles through not only their marketing but by their good after purchase support too. I used to like Harleys until I rode one, I'm sorry I did as it blew up the mystique I had created for myself over the make.
To answer your question about the high RPM stumbling.. somehow it's better. Especially if I ease the throttle more gently downward. So maybe it's a fuel issue after all. The mech hasnt seen it yet but that 4000km service is due really soon. Maybe she needed to get used to the new front sprocket..who knows?
Ok finally! Problem solved on the high rev stumbling and guess what? It was a fuel issue after all.. Turns out my mechie solved it, although I have to say I helped too. I noticed something interesting the other day. My bike had only recently come back from it's 4000km service and despite running better etc. she started coughing and finnaly spluttered to come to a resounding halt on the side of the freeway! Normally this would have upset me no end. I pulled off my gloves, texted my wife to come and pick me up and wondered what the hell was going on. Suddenly a thought came over me.. I reached down and flipped the fuel tap from it's down facing position to up facing position. Twisted the throttle and bamb she started first time! What a surprise, I had a quarter tank of fuel and she was always left on the reserve position (my mechie chided me on this point). Turning the fuel tap to up position solved it.
Anyway, I told my mechie what had happened. This prompted him to disconnect the fuel pipe from the tap and there it was.. fuel barely dribbled through when the tap was in the down position. On the up position the fuel flowed better but not great. So out came the air hose and ten seconds later the fuel was flowing perfectly! Bottom line she revs cleanly and performs excactly as I expect her too. What a relief! Thanks motomia, thanks raymond for excellent care and customer support. Also appreciate wisdom from MJH, nice to have good advice from the china moto team as well.
P.s. cant wait for the new china 650cc bikes to hit this country. I'm told the Loncin will arrive here next year!:icon10:
I doubt you will see a 650 Loncin any time soon....if you do it will most likely be a private labeled Kawasaki made in china by Loncin.
I hope you did not do any harm to the engine leaning it out like that, but the problem is over now. Hope nothing else has cropped up since then.
post some images of you bike when you get a chance....
It would really suck if they decided to not release the Loncin 650's indeed! CF moto's model looks awesome and the praises have been sung. I hope to convince Motmia single handedly to bring these in if possible? Not sure what agreements they have signed with Loncin though.
On my end, just what damage could I have done to the engine running it lean like that? She seems fine, but what symptoms should I keep a look out for just in case. Would like to sort it out before my warranty runs out!
I just do not believe that Loncin is going to bring the 650 bike into production, that is just the impression I have, but I could be wrong.
The reserve part of the tank is not vented well unless the main part of the tank is empty. It creates restricted flow and leans the engine. Too lean burns hotter and its hard on the engine, its more of a longevity thing then a symptomatic thing.
I see. No offence but I hope you are wrong in the end. It's just that I hope and pray for the opposite to occur. My guess is that you have insight into the china motor market and know something I dont. It would be a crying shame though. Motomia emailed me back a response on the possible importing of the CFmoto 650. Not really positive. I'm told if they imported these CFmoto 650's they would retail for around 50k! Plainly not affordable and silly as the Kawasaki 650's go for around 60k so it would be pointless! Something doesnt make sense? I know those CFmotos are retailing for just over half the price of the kawasaki equivalents in Australia! So what gives? Someones not talking as to the real why is my guess!
Ok, on to my bike and the possible long term ramifications of lean running. I hope I've not weakened her inadvertantly too much. To address the problem I added a little prolong to the sump to keep temperatures down and lessen friction. She seems to run a little smoother so lets see how that pans out. Any other advice?
50,000.00 ZAR = 6,069.91 USD
Here is a link to a dealer in Australia selling the NK650...
Australia is not the most over priced market, Brazil is for sure and some of the EU is also ridiculously overpriced.
I wonder what the price of the CFMOTO will be in the USA? Not that I want one because its not that appealing to me. This market is certainly not gagging for it , most of the naked 650’s came and left at a discount. The ER6N is I believe in closeout, the other naked 650 bikes of the past all had languishing sales. The preferred configuration of that engine is in the 650 Ninja.
Kawasaki just launched the Ninja 300 for 2013, it has a USA MSRP of $4,750.00 only a few hundred more then the 250?
If I could get the 300 in the form of the Versys or even a 250 Versys styled model for closer to $4,000.00 They would get my attention. I am not into the crouched ridding position and rear sets. But I am in a market outer layer. So is the NK650 their is market for them, but not as big as the race style bikes.
The 300 in ZA I think a 40hp twin is enough for me, I am not into carving around...that much.
So seems to me that the winner of the chicken diner, would be a full line of 300cc twins? They could be a Loncin line maybe? But Loncin only has the 300cc single which is not as good, not as good as a 40hp twin,. With only 26.2hp, but that is not bad though, if they are geared correctly.
A line of 300cc bikes would be cool for Loncin, singles and twins? Big brothers to the 150 line they have, which are fairly nice.
Wow that Ninja 300 looks impressive! Clocking in at a possible 192km for a 300cc bike is plainly incredible really. Wouldnt it be nice for a china bike to come in and be a real game changer by ushering in a twin that almost beats it yet has a delicious price to boot? Loncin could do it I believe or maybe CFmoto perhaps. One things for sure no one as far as I can see has made an entry level sports bike (china made) that features higher tweeking performance. Why not? Imagine a factory fitted performance pipe, or fuel injected option etc. etc. Charge a bit more of course, but at least give the customer more options I say. Air cooled thumpers simply dont deliver I'm afraid, out cometh the twin they must surely make! Ultimately why was there a huge CC gap whereby you used to have to jump from a 200 or 250cc all the way up to a 600cc. Where is the middle ground with 300's and 400's. This is the case here in S.africa anyway. I'm sure you guys in the states are spoilt for choice. We all want budget, best bang for your buck bikes. It's for this reason we support china bikes dont we? May they improve ever more!
The 300 is being offered in the USA for $4,800.00, the 400 is offered in Canada for $6,999.00, Canadians pay too much for motorcycles. The Ninja 650 in the USA has an MSRP of $7,600.00.
These are all made in Thailand and are sourced through low cost centers, in that likely they have higher profits then the competitors.
Loncin has to hold true to its customer base, it has to build what is highly affordable and build up as it matures.
I think the 300cc single would work well as entry level adventure bike.
Currently they only offer the 223cc JL250GY Rover and LX150-70F

http://www.loncinie.com/Files/%E4%BA...GY%20right.jpg
The 300cc singles would work well for models of these types, and offered for under $3,500.00 USD.
If they want to add value and in that increase prices, then adding features like a GPS system that integrates with an online community, would be one way. They could even add a dash cam and allow all data to be interface with a online system. Getting new adventure riders and in that hooking them into a system that is user friendly. In that is a link to new sales and future advancements in product offerings.
A dashboard and accessible online, a page to store ride routes, related images and even video. It could also offer service records and even track miles, offer an online stores and even show authorized service centers on a map. It could track fuel use and all kinds of data, integrating the experiences into a virtual community.
Very interesting proposition MJH, adding value in a unique way. I spose it doesnt always have to be about higher top end or more ponies etc. I've often wished for a GPS mounting thats weather proof to use sometimes. All the other features you mentioned are deffinitely possible for a small price. Why do you suggest it to one of these manufacturers? No harm done right?
Who is you favourite china bike by the way and why?
