It is not difficult to find these they sell them everywhere throughout the United Kingdom, prices range between $1400-$1600 GBP

Behind these in the UK is Dean Clements of ClementsMoto, they are also the distributor for Baotian. For some reason Jiangmen Sino-HongKong Baotian Motorcylce Industrial Co., Ltd does not show up in the Top 50 Chinese manufactures? Even though they are leading scooter sales in Europe.

In Serbia, the HJ 125-8A is sold as Sprint Track 125 and you can get it for a bit more than 1,000 euros.

This bike is mainstream, common small displacement Chinese motorcycle. What is the mystery to me is its engine - it is not "good old" OHV or CB's clone and seem to have balance shaft.

Not very quite is it….they advertised a 200cc version that never seemed to come to light, the ZT166FML.
The model name is Phantom.

A 13kW 200cc bike with a higher price would not sell very well in Europe, it would have to meet E3 and likely need EFI to do that being over 150cc, maybe? Generic is advertising a 200cc but does not offer any yet for sale? I wonder if it would need EFI to enter the market or not?




It never came around….they do seem to need to offer more or they may get left behind? It could be a real economic wall the emissions, getting past it and maintaining budget prices, may be economically infeasible?

I am glad you pointed that out, it made no sense to me that the above bikes were not sold in China? Now it makes more sense as Haojiang does offer all of them in China and also as 150cc models.

ClementsMoto also holds the trademark for Motoroma, that is the brand that Senke sells under in the UK. So the Tayo and Senke come to the UK though one enterprise that being ClementsMoto.

The Sk150-9 SENKE looks like it has the same engine, then it could be that these two manufacturers share a common source for their engines.

It seems that we are not far away from solving another mystery - whose is 250 cc engine on the Senke SK 250 X6 and who designed it.

That makes me think that the Senke 223cc single engine in the SK250 model came through that same development channel.

So you have manufactures in china sharing a source of development and components, then they converge again in the distribution in the UK Market. There is likely a shared logistics company in the middle that would be a trading company.


Seeing 125cc Senkes offered in Africa all day long for $700.00 retail, the factory is not likely making much profit on those are they, probably very small percentages, 1-2% I would estimate.

With that 223cc engine, they can have two exhausts one on each side since that engine has a twin exhaust port.

I would prefer it say Haojiang or Senke on it, not any other brand.

Its just my opinion, but if a bike looks like its fast then it should actually be fast. If it’s a commuter then it should look like a commuter. The Haojing design with a 223cc to me makes more sense for Romet to offer then the SK250 that looks like a sport bike, but really is not, the SK250 also does not fit well into the Romet line, its not that they should not make it, but if they used the engine in other models then they could get greater economy of scale in its production. Then they also increase the demand for the components and again improve the economy of scale.


The other issue that concerns me is that if the SK250 can be sold in Poland then why not in the UK? It could be that its futuristic design does not appeal to everyone, its not design neutral it is what could be called fashion forward and to conventional people that can actually irritate them. That as a matter of assuming opposed to being unassuming, if it looks fast it should really be fast.


Some could sell their 125cc L and opt up to a low cost 223cc, getting a bit more for a bit more. Then there are also conventional thinkers that simply want a commuter and they are beyond the L and may ride in the L class simply because no over 125cc that are low cost are available.


If it is conventional looking it may attract more people?

As far as I understand, in Africa are also popular Chinese clones of two-stroker Suzuki AX 100. I believe that the retail price is even lower.

I know I have noticed those as well, I would think a 100cc 2-stroke would have good acceleration. But they are so dirty, look at the smoke coming out, its not a good thing.

The models is a Savin MKZ200, that's rated at 16 hp a little better then the Suzuki 200cc which they also sell.

It looks like they are assembling those in Iran?

The engines are called TY engines, they are from TYAN, they make allot of OHV engines. These are their OHC's nice, based on the prices of the bikes that have these they are not expensive.

I guess it goes like any other bike with 8-10 h.p. two stroke engine and mass of 80-90 kilos. Up to 60 or 70 km/h, it should not be inferior to the 125/150 4T bikes. Not to mention that this engine have seven and a half moving parts and virtually almost nothing can go wrong.

"Smoke effects" are easy solvable problem - this engine should be able to run with a 2-2,5% mixture of quality low smoke 2T oil, because con rod on both ends have needle bearings. Plus, you can use Ipone's 2T oil which gives smoke with a scent of strawberries... ...so, while you ride, you can sing "Strawberry fields forever". :lol8:

Either way, I think we need a topic dedicated to the Chinese two-stroke engines.

I am convinced that Romet, as domestic manufacturer, is exempted from paying import taxes, plus, production prices of these bikes are not so high. That way, retail price can be affordable.

But I think the price for these twins is still too high. Look at this:

This is the off-season discount from our local importer. Twin cylinder bikes, Prince 125 and 250 are not Haojin's, but Jinlun's. Still, the retail price is very interesting: 125 ~ $1,230 and 250 ~ $1,590.

Add another $ 100 for the license plates, registration sticker, mandatory insurance, etc., and... that's all.

That would be $2,400.00 USD for that Challenger and $1,800.00 USD for the Prince 125.
The Jinlun is a V twin though. (14K/5.90) about 2,400 USD.


The Raptors are not cheap, the 350 is $5,540.00 USD.

Jinlun JL 125-11 costs approximately one thousand two hundred thirty dollars, and Sprint Prince 250 aka. Jinlun JL 250-5 (as well as Sprint Challenger aka. Jinlun JL 250 V), costs approximately one thousand five hundred ninety dollars.

The original Jinan QingQi's are not in the market for several years, and this same company sells Pioneer's 125 and 200 cc supermotards for about two thousand U.S. dollars. Simply, they showed a certain quality and their price is higher than the unreliable 2008 model (yes, they are in storage for three or four years) Sprint Apollo 250 aka. Zhejiang Apollo AGB-36 (~1,180.00 USD).

Oh I used Kunas, I should have noticed they are in Serbia, that is very inexpensive.
