i have to sell my bike, i am heading back to Europe - it is a R1150 Rockster - from 2005
i got it since 2008 - it has the green and blue booklet + insurance - plate from jiangsu
21 000 km on the odometer

i am asking for 30 000 RMB

the bike is in changzhou - jiangsu and have a few mods

here is the full description:

ABS
BMW GS1150 handle bars - with protection (oem bmw)
aluminum motor protection
cylinder protection (oem bmw)
top case support + handles for the passenger (oem bmw)
CMD dynojet with wideband lambda sensor (import US)
LEO VINCE carbon exhaust (import italy)
catless Y (import UK)
scorpio alarm sri900 (import US)
tank protection Bagster + bag (import France)
+ few extras such as CNC oil plug (import USA) the original assembly is a piece of crap, GPS support (import from Germany), chinese top case
michelin tyres
all the maintenance done by myself (with oem parts - or high quality aftermarket parts mainly bought in France)

I was in contact with the foreign seller here when this was listed, and from his very detailed reply I can report that the plate is not a Changzhou plate, it's 苏H.

Here are some comparables in the US. That's not a bad price, if it's certifiably legal and registrable. If it started out in China with 13 years until mandatory scrapping, it presumably can be registered through 2018 -- five more years.

Any idea how many km on this bike?

yes it is not a shanghai plate but jiangsu H (苏H)
i have a green and blue book that matches the serial numbers on the bike
the paper are registered under a Chinese name
the model of the bike on the papers is a BMW 1100 cc
i have insurance under my name
so for how far it is legal... no idea... if it is registrable... no idea... i have been controlled once or twice over the past years and never had any comments... had a friend checking if it was registered in the police traffic bureau and he confirmed ok...


i am leaving china soon... if any one interested make your offer i wont drive it back to europe!

It's just a bit scary, because it's a Jiangsu H plate and it is a 2005 bike. What year were legal motorcycle imports started again was it after 2005 or in 2005? There were also many clone and back-door registrations from Suzhou.

It would be a more attractive bike if there was some way to make sure that the bike can be re-registered in the buyers area.

The thing is if it is 100% legal, it's worth the 30,000RMB, if it turns out to be illegally registered it's worth about 10,000RMB. Therein lying the problem. I am not trying to be rude, I really would consider putting in an offer if it's a legit bike. Or maybe a different cities' Gong An might not agree with it being re-registered in their area.
