Dear Matthew,
Greetings and welcome to MCM. You probably already know you are in the heartland of China's motorcycle industry, where all the silliness and dysfunction starts! Are you yourself in the industry? What do you do there? If you are interested, it's possible to visit many of the major manufacturers.
What are you riding? Please post pix!
cheers
Hello Mat!
What, you have a problem to find bike in Chongqing? No dealerships? :icon10:
Hi JkP,
Thank you, yes, I know I am in the heartland of China's motorcycle industry, I am in this industry.
I am here just for some useful market and policy info as I am in this industry.
And also, I am willing to share some info with people here.
I can visit Lifan,Loncin, Zongshen, Bashan,Yingxiang,Shineray, these are the major motorcycle manufacturers(private company) in Chongqing. Jianshe and Jialing are government owned company, it is a little difficult to visit their plant, but I know them very well.
Actually, I am the manufacturer, I am looking for distributors!!:icon10:
So I hope to get some info from this forum and make new friends.

May explain the missing digits?
Linkedin has her as Bashan’s Sales Manager, but then again they have Johnny Depp listed as their independent translator.

Which may explain Astronautic?
I don't know her, she maybe in Generator&Tiller sales dept.
But I am in Motorcycle sales dept
That does not surprise me, she is listed with others on the Bashan Linkedin page, several sales people.
You have to register with linkedin to view it.
Why “Astronautic” nothing is going into outer space?
Previously, BASHAN is a state-owned company which belongs to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
Bashan had a motorcycle assembly plant, then one entrepreneur bought this motorcycle company.
So the name is Astronautic Bashan. That's it.
Hi xpowersports. First of all, thank you for taking your time to post here. I'd like to ask you a few questions:
1. Bashan's motorcycle range is a little disappointing to say the least. No multi-cylinder, water-cooled, DOHC or 4 valve-per-cylinder engines in any of your bikes. Am I right in saying that in China, Bashan is considered a bit of a "山寨" motorcycle brand similar to Sukida, Jinlun and Baotian etc?
2. That being the said, does Bashan intend to improve its product range or is it happy with where it currently stands?
3. As someone working in the Chinese motorcycle industry what are your opinions on motorcycle bans? Do you think it's going to get worse or are local governments going to relent in the future?
I have found Bashan's alibaba site, but cannot link to it since I am using a tablet. However, there seem to be quite a few bikes, and several are listed as EPA/DOT for the US, as well as other bikes offering EEC certification. I hope that is more in line with what Bashan is offering vs. their website. Mathew, can you fill us in?
yeah and here is the link to contact their "sales manager"
http://bashan.en.alibaba.com/contactinfo.html
Mr. Min Zhou
The only new offering is the same old copy of a Honda CBR 150/250, that every single manufacturer in China sells.
The distributor for the USA is Peace Industries.

My first contact with Bashan is my neighbor's friend's ATV - common small-displacement ATV, but its engine make me laugh - standard 200 cc liquid cooled pushrod that is not painted in common silver or black, but in light BLUE, with golden Chinese characters on engine side cover. :lol8:
Perhaps we should continue this discussion in this thread - http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...85%AC%E5%8F%B8
