I've been anxiously following construction progress for the last two years and it's finally finished. They've sacrificed a whole mountain side for this road, but man was it worth it!

7am, the first rays of sunlight hit the 5600m peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain near Lijiang, Yunnan.
The road is in a national park, entrance fee is 185 kuai. Or you can get up earlier than everyone else...

Took off on a spur of the moment ride end of March meeting Tom in Fujian and riding together thru Jiangxi and Hunan before he headed south back to Shenzhen. Then onto Guiyang to hook up with Milton where we did Western Guizhou, Southern Sichuan, then into Yunnan. After Milton's departure for Kunming I took off for Deqin and back into Sichuan across some hairy Spring mountains to Litang and now Chengdu.

How is that JH 600 running? Do you alter the jetting for the high passes?

This one is from a music festival in the Qinling mountains. I lost my keys somewhere that night while abusing whatever substance there was to abuse. The next day i miraculously found them in a pile of rubbish that i may or may not have slept in.

The Lone Ranger pictured pointed out a large sky burial site littered with knifes, cleavers, bones and skulls on the T-Plateau in May 2003 during our "Thunder in the Hills" ride, those were the days of free travel in the region, hope to be back up on the T-Plateau with a bike during 2014 for yet another long ride.
I think I got it. Same reason I have an indestructible DJ hard-tail mountain bike and a air sprung full suspension lightweight trail bike. Or someone might have a VW Golf as a daily commuter and a Lamborgini at the weekends.Quote:

Well i'm coming from a chinese 250 so obviously i fucking loved it. Had it for 10 days and toured the mountainous north of thailand with the wife, can't really fault it.
Rented it from a place called Tony's Big Bikes in Chiang Mai, lovely bunch and very helpful, can't fault them either.
