Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
I think this is the correct stator for me:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=20657952333
But its price seems suspiciously low compared to the hundreds of stator coils assemblies I've seen on taobao. Anyone speaking Chinese, can you, please, take a look if there is a catch, as Google translate is not helping much.
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
Well, I have to say that I'm more than pleasantly surprised by Skyteam factory customer support. Since there in no distributor in Bulgaria, they are willing to sell me the stator assembly (1 pcs!) and ship it. Now, we're working on getting suitable shipping option (read "cheap option") and I'll most probably rely on one of the taobao agents to handle the transport for me.
I also asked the UK dealer, but their price is way too high for me - GBP67.45, plus shipping. Still waiting for an answer from one of the German dealers...
In the meantime, I continue with the (sort of) "reverse engineering" and noticed a logo on the inside of the stator cover:
Attachment 11292
Any idea who's that? Google image search can't match it with anything.
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
And two weeks later, any news?
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
The taobao agent has received the stator from the factory and is now shipping it to me. So, I'm waiting...
Total cost - USD47.00
I'm totally amazed by the customer service of Skyteam! I never expected them to go through so much effort about one spare part for a customer from the other side of the world. And since credit must be given where is due,
Skyteam factory support is top quality! I'm 110% satisfied and highly recommend them.
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
Well, one month to the day after the bike stopped running, yesterday the stator arrived in my mail box. Installed it and the bike runs like a charm! Yupee!
The path about getting parts from the factory using an agent has been made, so next time I need something I think it'll be much faster.
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
Did you change leaky oil seal?
Say, you didn't ask for Skyteam's price list?
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
What leaky seal? No leakages on my watch!
And, no, I didn't ask for a price list. I hope I won't be needing anything special for a long time :riding:
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
What leaky seal?
Look at the bottom of the photo, inside magneto. What is that black fluidish stuff?

Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
Perfectly normal to see a little oil in there.
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
Actually there is an aperture in the back end of the case so the oil "flows" in both halves of the crank case. As far as I can tell this is by design and I suppose the idea is to enhance cooling.
Re: Stator coil (Magneto)?
What you are telling us? Magneto and coils are in oil bath?

I wouldn't call it a bath, maybe 25cc's of oil on that side. I can't recall ever seeing a dry one on any bike.
Cheers!

Probably something like that.
When I removed the left crank case cover I hadn't drained the oil as it was only ~500km old, plus I thought I'd fix the problem and close it back right away. As it revealed it wasn't the case, I put the bike back on it's side stand and (almost) all of the oil drained from the hole between the cases.
Based on that I'd say that when the engine is off and bike's on the side stand the coils are "soaked" in oil. Now, what happens when the engine is running and the pump's working, I don't know. May be all the oil is sucked into the right case, where the clutch is. Or may be not... :)
