Hello from Brazil - riding the Sundowns.
Qingqi QM200 GY-BA Fender modification
Ricardo. I really like your fender modification as shown in your website. This involves fitting the guard from a Honda CBF250 (also called a twister in Brazil).

I was thinking of leaving out the original altogether. I've noticed that apart from the riveting to the fork slider guards you've also fitted a thin wire stay at the back. I'll do that as well.
The problem starts when you pop down to those licensed bandits at the Honda spares shop and find that the price here is 150 euros ( US$190) or (449 BRL). Just for comparison, the perfectly well-made original Qingqi mudguard costs 25 euros (US$32) or (75 BRL).
I've noticed that you say that yours is from an aftermarket supplier which is bound to be cheaper. Is it this one:

It might not be, as they have some bits for the 250 Twister, but not the front fender. Can you tell me where you got it from. Thanks.
Qingqi (Qlink, STX Motard, etc) Service manual
Have you seen the Service manual in Portuguese that Luis Carlos has uploaded?
It's quite wonderful. Lots of ilustrations, every procedure explained and all data included for the Cross and Motard models of the STX Sundown.

Re: Hello from Brazil - riding the Sundowns.
Hi chromedioxide and all "China Moto riders", "late but not least". Finally I am getting back to you with something relevant. In this photo I am collecting my bike, after the 15.000 km maintenance service, at Moto Limongi - Sundown dealer in Goiania - GO - Brazil.
See how my bike is in pristine condition (check link below), after clocking 15.000 km. As the time passes the black colour of my bike´s rims is fading out and this nice copper colour is becoming apparent. Nice combination that I am getting for free, isn´t it? At my right is Marconi - Customer Service receptionist, and at my left is Janio - mechanic who looks after my Motard. Cheers from Goiania - GO - Brazil.

Re: Hello from Brazil - riding the Sundowns.
Ricardo,
The gold rims are sweet! It's like a martials arts black belt, the longer you ride it, the more the color changes!
The bike looks like new! How did you keep the header/exhaust pipe from rusting???

Re: Hello from Brazil - riding the Sundowns.
Hi CrazyCarl, I normally use a liquid wax called Auto Brilho over the whole motorcycle: plastics, rims, engine, etc. It's a very good product that creates a thin protective layer over the surfaces in general. It's worth mentioning that the I live in a region where the air humidity is very low - thus resulting most of the year in a very dry weather. I am sending the link below for you and all. Cheers.

Re: Hello from Brazil - riding the Sundowns.
To all MyChinaMoto.com riders
I invite you to check my most recent trip, to attend the Megacycle event at São Lourenço - MG - BRAZIL, with my Sundown STX Motard. My bike is nearly clocking the 18.000 km mark, and is performing really well. All details are available at this new page of my website: http://www.caldas.com.br/30anos/mota...cycle_engl.htm
Cheers
Ricardo

Ricardo, excellent report! keep on riding, and keep the reports coming!!:riding:
Re: Hello from Brazil - riding the Sundowns.
I second that! Excellent report and an inspiration to all riders... not just riders of Chinese motos!
You've put some serious km's on your motard and it seems to be holding up well! I think you are totally right about passing people with bigger bikes. With most bikes you can either ride faster or ride longer. Riding fast for too long can be fun but sometimes not good for our health! :lol8:
Cheers,
