Howdi all,I'm looking for some reviews on the cfmoto 150 leader-well that's what its called over here in oz.Cost is $2799aud on road for the 2013 model 6 speed water cooled. I own many old jap bikes and I'm pretty good with tools(carpenter by trade/backyard mechanics by night) and I'm looking for a chinese moto for commuting purposes only
I have also been looking into the Honda cb125e.I want something that i can get parts easily for.Any opinions/input would be greatly appreciated.

Chinese parts are easily come across now considering that chinese bikes are literally taking over the rode over here where I live in good 'ol England, i see about 3 every time I commute to work. But Chinese bike parts are easily findable, personally I use chinese motorcycle parts online. Cheap and fast shipping.
@ThatGuyLiam, seriously you see that many I maybe see 3 in 3 days, and that's with allot of shops nearby selling them but saying that it is winter so allot of people have giving until spring again or it could be I'm not paying that much attention to small capacity bikes anymore as I used to.
@Stu the CFmoto looks a good bike may have more go to it than the Honda the motor in the CF looks like a GS125 engine converted to LC like CG engines converted to LC, I guess have a good look around both bikes and make a decision also what is the proce difference if the Honda is only a little bit more I would go Honda, I have a 23 year old Honda still going strong and will still top out 140mph its only 400cc as well.

Here in Perth I know 2 of the many bike trainers well and one uses a CB125 Honda and the other a CFMoto 150 leader , I have ridden both and if it was my money I would grab the Leader , nothing wrong with the Honda but the FMoto is better to ride , more power by quite a bit , about the same weight and very nicely finished , looks way better to my eye ( sportier ) than the little CB ,

These both get a hard life being ridden daily by many 'ham fisted' learners and the Leader is going strong after a year or so now , the owner is more than happy ,he also uses an un-restricted 650nk for his 'R' licenses students , where the CB owner used a 700cc Honda .
I think these are an awesome commuter bike , sporty , great price and fit and finish please let us know what you decide .

Not all Jap bikes are equal with bikes made in Indonesia, Thailand and so on, a lot built in Brazil in the 90's everyone knew the 2 stroke Jap bikes had to be the Italian built of Japanese built ones as the Brazilian ones would go bang quicker and rust a lot quicker.
Comparing a new Honda to my 25 year old one you can see how far the quality has dropped since then my bike is not mint but at the same time it fairs a lot better than a new bike will.

That's perfectly true, quality has dropped a little, but it does vary between bikes and manufacture locations. Still I had a Chinese Sundiro Honda CBF150 from 2007 and it was way better built than my 2013 CFMOTO 650NK. Better parts, assembly, fit, finish and reliability.Quote:

Both bikes has had issues from new to many problems to list
Now my Honda CRF 250L made in Thailand is world class bike in its category and good value for the money it cost
So I think ZMC888 comments was fair and one should respects someone's view who knows what he is talking about IMO
well you must have got ones made on Friday or Monday LOL ,,, mine has done 7k hard km's and not missed a beat , I cant say that about a few friends Honda'a and Yamahas that have had major melt downs after only 1-2000 kms , its just luck of the draw , as they say if it has 'Tits or Tyres' it will give you grief , sorry about your woes but it seems we here in Australia have better bikes and way better after sales service , well we do where I live any way .
Oh yes I see Honda has just recalled 10,000's of their 'Made in Japan; cars ,,,Hmmmmm? food for thought ?.

Dude buys bike, sings its praises from the highest rooftop to anyone who'll listen, is blind to the niggles and small problems other people have had with the bike. Then their bike develops an issue, sometimes due even to user error, bad luck or some other reason. My CFMoto 650TK/TR has done over 13,000 km and is due for its 12,000 km service soon (next week likely). In the time I have the bike, it has the following issues:
- Radiator fan did not work. Damn got me stranded on a traffic jam. The temp gauge is handy. Traced it to a loose or broken fuse.
- The 12V external socket did not work. No trace of power by the dealer. Replaced the whole thing.
- Loose/missing dampener near the exhaust. Replaced by dealer.
- Bent seat mounting catch. Dealer may have put it back improperly during last service. Dealer to get a look and claim warranty.
Other than that have not missed a beat. So far all have been QC issues. Overally build quality is good but not outstanding.
I have installed the following:
- Heated grips
- Weather proof smartphone holder with own independent charging
- Taller factory screen
- MRA X-creen Touring on top of the taller screen
- Longer factory leg stand (to be installed on its next service)
- LED headlights on low and high beam with its own ballast. Difference is night and day.
I ride the bike daily for commute and it has been great apart from the issues.

The panniers additional latches are good thing but the placement was where some pressure are being exerted forcing the them to pop out. So back to the drawing board. The LCD display is not too accurate. The clock runs faster as time goes by and the fuel gauge is not so accurate.
I like the bike but it does have some niggling issues that keep it peg down from being a world class bike.

Well said though my experience is with export model of Chinese bike so it may be as good as the Thai built bikes but certainly the best Thai built Japanese bikes will be better as it is designed by the Japanese and it is just assembled in Thailand or other main Asian countries.Quote:
