We may see some of the 250cc –500cc BMW/TVS models on display in Milan this November. We can certainly expect to see the new TVS 200-250cc offerings.

Before BMW sold off Husqvarna, it may have transferred some of the technology to TVS?

Eeew, that 300cc BMW totally ruins the reputation of BMW in my eyes. Such a shame! I wonder what kind of china crap it is disguised as BMW! On the other hand....maybe an affordable BMW :weary: :naughty:
By the way, this established MC brands pushing affordable models to markets is not a bad opener by them to counter the onslaught of china bikes in the Bike Wars :D
If you could live with F and G series, with their chain drive, you'll survive even those small caliber BMWs.
Well, I am happy with the Jawa. If I would buy something else, that would be most probably either Ural or Peugeot Django. Ural would be the New Way, Django would be for minimum budged motorcycling with more than 125cc. I want to spend as little as possible on a bike. In fact, I am very curious of what bike (> 125 cc) would be the most cheap to maintain when all costs are counted, that is, the price when ordered a new, fuel with 20 000 km / year, traffic insurance, and repairing costs.

Bajaj sold 2,099,230 in 2014
Hero Motorcorp sold 6,245,960 vehicles in 2014.
TVS reported sales last year of 2,073,457.
2014 domestic sales for India 10,479,817 with exports of 1,982,755
BMW did make shaft drive 250cc singles at one point, they do not capitalize on the low cost manufacturing in any big way other then the higher profit. I am not saying that they should bring these back to life, though they could spend more on R&D if the products are being made in low cost manufacturing regions. Otherwise we are only getting another version of what already exists in so many other forms.
R25-R27, they sold lots of these in Europe.

Wow, that looks brilliant, gief!!
If you ask here older gents about BMW, you can be sure that will tell you about R25/R27s. You should see with how much respect they mention those bikes. So yes, I'm familiar with those shaft driven 250 cc.
About TVS: some six years ago, some small company from Serbia imported batch of TVS "Apache", along with some TVS's scooters and introduced them to the public in Belgrade's "Moto Passion". Retail price was about 1450 euros and common impressions among bikers were that "Apache" is bit smaller than average Chinese commuter bike, namely "Keeway Speed" 125/150, but they looked like they were better built than "Keeway".
I took some shots with my phone.

Because I did not saw many "Apaches" on the roads and in the ads, I believe that this company, in some corner of their depot, still has crates with brand new disassembled bikes.
There are three bikes I know. Ural, Jawa, and Royal Enfield. The rest are a mess called motorcycle.
You should update your forum nick.
Try with "Ukko Moilami". :lol8:
Hehe, well I admit that was a little bit ignorant statement. But just a little bit :lol8:
You don't understand that!
Orange reminded him on another 70's and '80's classic - "Laverda". :riding:
Even their harvesters have motorcycle genes.

Now Jawa has got zero celsius start-up and near zero celsius start-up. Started up like a charm: fuel richness on, three casual kicks, electricity on, commanding kick, and TRÄÄÄÄT-RÄTTRÄTRÄTRÄTRÄT :D
In some another thread there was talk about slipping. Well, today it was zero celsius in the morning, which predicted ice and stuff on the road. I started-up Jawa and begun to drive. The tarmac looked wet but I thought it is not icy. Soon I wondered why the front of the bike is wobbly like there would be serious unbalancing issue on tires or not enough air on tires. It was like driving in soft sand, though wobbly was more vibrant and not so high strenght. Then I realized that the road was icy in a way that the tire "lived" a little on the instabilities on the road.
Ok, that was not a biggie but since Jawa is a new bike for me and tires are new for me, and thussly I don't know how them both behave in interesting situations, it was a bit exciting to drive. Drove a bit slower than normally, but the grip was all good, could had as well driven normally. Then, when I was about to turn to the parking area of my workplace, I shifeted down and released clutch in a four stroke way while not adjusting throttle to the speed I was going, the two stroke style, the rear wheel locked and I slipped slided from left to right. Again, was not a biggie even with my too strong counters, but what it did was reminded me of the joys on two stroke. The engine braking is less effective, so the rear wheel does not lock-up so easily, and when you drive correctly two stroke way you adjust the throttle in a way that no bad rear wheel lock-up can happen because of engine braking.
Who is mod here?

BMW is supposed to be revealing their new G-310 entry level motorcycle in Milan,
http://images.financialexpress.com/2...-G-310-R-1.jpg
Powering the BMW G 310 R is an all-new 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with 4 valves and 2 overhead camshatfs with electronic fuel injection. The company says that the most striking feature of the G 310 R is its backward-tilted cylinder in open-deck design with the cylinder head turned by 180 degrees. Mated to a 6-speed transmission, this engine is claimed to churn out a maximum power output of 34bhp at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm.
Should retail in India for under..
200,000.00 INR = 3,025.76 USD
comes in three colors

I could buy that, if I would not already have one china bike :lol8:
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y.../BMW-G-310.jpg
It’s interesting the engine leans to the rear at 180 degrees, that offers up more space between the block the radiator, the engine also has an open deck design, for better heat dispensation. The wheelbase is at 1397mm which is about an inch longer then the KTM 390 and Honda CB300F. From what I have read the next offering from the TVS venture will be a 500cc model.
BMW Motorrad UK has the G310R listed...no price yet though.
