New Qlink Megelli - China build, Tiawan motor, English design, American importer
And It's very Italian inspired! Here's a link to a show release article:

Scooter news does a good job of covering the show. Or go to qlinkmotor dot com for more photos.
I didn't make it to Indy this year and missed Qlinks new offering of three trellis framed LC 250 in race, naked and S-moto trim. Wow...I think these bikes are really nice looking. Granted I used to work for a Ducati dealer and currently sell Vespa, Piaggio, and Moto Guzzi.
So Qlink is a US importer with mostly Qingqi products. But from what I can gather, this Megelli is pulled together differently. I don't know if these will be avialible outside the US.
I guess some amount of credit is due to Qlink for going a little further to set itself apart from the crowd. But, got any bets on how quickly a Megelli-clone will pop up???

"The three Megelli models are the most anticipated products. Finally we have got 2010 EPA certificate. It means we are legal to import them now. However, our R & D team in China is working on the improvement of engine to make sure it has enough speed and durability. For sure Megelli will be available in early next year, but we may be able to make it happen earlier."

Looks like they'll be out soon.

Hmmm...

They've got a good discussion/review going on this FB group, So far everything I've read about the 125 really puts me off towards them. Hopefully the 250 will have the QC upped for qlink. I've also read these bikes are a sachs/minerva/megelli joint venture. They do look kinda like that sachs x-road but at much better price. Last I checked x-road 125 was going for around 3000$, which is about the same price the megelli 250s are going for. :eekers:

Re: New Qlink Megelli - China build, Tiawan motor, English design, American importer
I believe that the Kawasaki Ninja 250 is the best selling current motorcycle in the US. If you visit a Kawasaki dealer you can see that; there are always at least 10 in the showroom. Its popular and part of that is the price, which is reflective of it being made in Thailand.
Megelli is being manufactured by HSUN
http://www.hsun-motor.com/EN/Product/Product.asp?SortPath=56
It is being sold by Qlink with a 250cc only for the states so far.
and its on back order on their site, which I think means its not ready to sell yet.
Qlink will not sell it unless they are confident in it.
It must slow the process contracting the builds, they all buy different parts from different places, is that engine a Loncin?
Re: New Qlink Megelli - China build, Tiawan motor, English design, American importer
IIRC The 125 was a Sym engine, I can't find anything about the 250 engine or proper updates on it. Its all 007 top secret stuff, but after reading what I did on the 125 FB group, I'm not going to be the tester for the 250, unless the problems w the 125 have been acknowledged, addressed and fixed.
Re: New Qlink Megelli - China build, Tiawan motor, English design, American importer
Oh common now... its a single cylinder sport bike, it has a 2 year warranty and they even offer 12 month same as cash right through the website. Count your pennies, just kidding, I think they could drop the price but people might be suspect if they drop it too much? The Kawasaki Ninja 250 is selling for $4,299.00 but its also a twin cylinder. The Qlink is asking $3,499.00 I say it should be $3,299.00 make it an even thousand less and include the delivery.
The Megelli has a Keihin carburetor, one of the same carburetors on the Ninja 250, its just that the Kawasaki has two of them.
It may be a Loncin engine? Call Qlink and ask? I would not ask for Jane Moneypenny though. Start off being very obsequious and work up to it.
Keep in mind the Kawasaki has ten more hp at its rear wheel than the Megelli mystery engine produces. The Ninja engine gives you 20 maximum hp more for a grand. So Qlink is not disclosing the engine manufacturer, why should they its nothing to brag about and certainly not something to hide, unless its about embarrassment and shouldn’t be it is what it is.

I like the looks of the Supermoto version of the 250. Still on back order at the US site.

It would be nice if it were a SYM 250 engine. My SYM HD200 scooter (176cc) will cruise at an honest 65MPH and top out at 70MPH.
