SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
From the dust of the old husqvarna brand in the italian city Varese ,the buildings were bought by SHINERAY several months ago now rises S.W.M, a italian brand that has been out of bussines for over 30 years and was a verry famous enduro,mx and trial machine builder with several world titles.Check out the galerie on the right side, the enduro s are clearly husqvarna but i really like the cafe racer, scrambler and the silver vase ,it think those last 3 machines using shineray engines ?
check it out ,picturegalerie on the right

Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
How am I supposed to read it--it is all in a foreign language :eek2: :lol8: Just kidding :lol8::naughty:
Seriously, while I could not read any of it, it all seems very interesting! Ironically, someone had posted a rant about Shineray not too long ago, about how they do not know how to do business. A friend of mine who is a distributor here in the US, said he used to carry Shineray products, but stopped. While he did not find them arrogant like the poster who ranted here on Mychinamoto, he found that he would make a deal with a rep, get some bikes, and call back a few months later to order more bikes or parts, and he had to start all over again as the rep was no longer with Shineray. It happened a few times, so he simply stopped dealing with them.
I wonder who will be considered 'management'? If it is Italians, they will hopefully want to sell bikes? :lol8:

In the interview with the pdg Macchi he speaks about chinese engines...shineray engines ?
Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
MASH is offering these as well as a Classic 250cc Ala Qinqqi.
Mash calls their bike with a 400cc a Five Hundred?

Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
I had never heard of MASH. Ford had a 500, but I think the largest engine they had in it was a 460 cu inch :rolleyes1: Kidding aside--motorcycles are often named for their engine size, so it is a little misleading to name a 400cc bike a '500' :confused1:
Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
The ad from the MASH 500 is from Belgium,my homeland. In France and Belgium the mash bikes are verry populair,a local motorcycle magazine tested the 500,sorry 400 and were verry postive, except the suspension and brakes working was negative. But i d ont think the engine is the same as the air cooled from swm,for the beginning the engine size is different nl.435,77cc against 399 cc for the mash
Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
I mentioned on the SWM thread under 'Industry News' above, some of the MASH bikes, at least the smaller ones, are Cleveland Cycle Werks motorcycles which is not a bad thing. CCW has figured out a way to get Chinese bikes mainstream even in the US, which is not an easy thing to do. Their bobber started it all, and then their stylish ACE and MISFIT (I think the MASH 70 and 75??) continued it. They proved that Chinese bikes don't blow up the first time they are ridden! :icon10:
Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
Yes, and have you seen the new Cleveland Cyclewerks 500cc Misfit?
Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
Looks like a very interesting line of motorcycles. I think there is a thread on advrider.com also. I love this old style do it all dual sport!! Reminds me a bit of a 1964 BSA 500 twin scrambler I rode in high school.

Different question, as something puzzles me here:
Both those bikes have tires mounted in opposite thread direction.
I suppose it's for the front tire's thread to "bite" the ground when braking.
But then wouldn't it cause water & mud to just build up right under the front tire in normal forward motion?
I always thought both tires thread should be in the same direction.
I don't get it.

Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
They will not likely make it to the market until 2016 and distribution would likely be limited to Europe.
BMW left motocross, even though they still retained some inroad with TVS.
They tried to convert Husky to road bikes and gave up, they should have introduced the BAJA as we can see the DUCATI is going to do real well with its scrambler.

These SWM are moving in that very popular direction, but in order to beat Ducati or at least take its leavings you need a lower cost option. In that it has to come out of a lowered cost production center. .

Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
I personally like the NUDA but it was also not popular.

Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
I would suggest that SWM utilize the water cooled engines in bikes that look like the Baja concept and not like the Strada or NUDA.

Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
Just bought one of these bikes last week here in Beijing. So far so good. For a 400cc the exhaust note is really nice, a deep rumble. Hugely popular already, just went back to the deler for the first oil and filter change and two were sold while I was waiting.

Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
I would say that a 125cc two stroke with direct injection would do real well in the learner class. For a street legal entry it would need to meet maximum level of hp to weight for the class and also be a low priced model.

Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
You really have to have some revelations to be revolutionary….
If you have some advantages in your costs at production then what should be manufactured is something new or at least something old that has been re engineered to be better then before.
I would say that a DFI two stroke would fit into that, if the people behind this are on a spending spree then they might want to look at who is working on the DFI? I believe that BMW was with that engine when they left.

Please start thread!! Congrats on such a beautiful bike!!
Re: SHINERAY HUSQVARNA branded S.W.M
OSSA or the people at OSSA should consider the UK learner class.
I would think that the market there would embrace them in that classification.
To bring back this bike…

Then take look at this Shineray offering and put a 125cc engine in it.
